PCB can give you a set.
On the issue of the rectifier,In fact, external rectifier can be installed in the chassis, and then connected to the PCB, on the line.
Just read this post. The tone of this post is not nice and at least it is generalizing as you are dealing with an individual here and not a people or a company. "The Chinese" are very well capable of designing quality stuff in contrary to some years ago when things were of low quality with design errors etc. Better than "the brits" anyhow which themselves don't adopt most of the worlds standards, if at all.
It seems a bit like people complaining about the quality of japanese cars while they nowadays have the highest production quality standards of all manufacturers. And indeed Chinese people count differently but a few times faster than us Europeans and, not unimportant, with a correct outcome too.
AndrewT, maybe you can give hints in a more positive/constructive way as gxcnabin seems a nice chap that is open for discussion ?

What do you think ? Of course I did but it won't help pointing out that there was something wrong technically. I know and I agree. There is an error for which a solution was brought by another forum member and gxcnabin reacted that this solution was OK. What else do you want ? Did you read post #63 ?
It does not give you the right to comment without any technical merit and respect for another forum member (that even gives away PCB's for this project for free). The amp nor the PCB design etc. won't get any better by doing so either.

gxcabin , have you ever experimented with aleph 2 amplifier?
i am currently busy with two projects but would love to experiment with a big project closer to the end of this year or early next year and was wondering if you had any input on which is the best?
I do realize that that the "best" is such a tricky thing to ask...
from reading and reading and reading it seems like the aleph 2 has the edge but i don't know.

Hi gxcnabin, what is a Huitie ? Thank you for the explanation, good luck with building a KSA50. IMO it is a device from an era that is over. I really wonder if anyone compared a well built class T amp with these class A monsters. If anyone can point me to such a comparison I would be glad. OK, driving that classic Lancia Fulvia is a very nice experience that you will not have in most modern economic environmentally friendly cars. They have their peculiarities and rust like hell (at least they do here, a friend of mine has one that needed the entire floor to be rebuilt) but they are a very good drive. They're good looking too and when you step on it you actually hear an engine sounding like music.
But when modern amps sound better than old amps I choose for modern amps. Or for modern amps in old amps cases
