Krell KSA 50 PCB

Well, I was getting the parts together to prototype my driver boards, and I realised I had made a slight mistake. My bag of 50 multiturn trimmers that I labelled as 5K are actually 20K. So does anyone want to swap 10 or so 20ks for 5ks?

:edit: they are Bourns 3296Y-1-203, vertical, not even the ones I put on my pcb layout! :xeye:

Hi All-

I have 3 prs of boards I have been sitting on waiting for all the original orders to arrive.

It is down to 1(one) shipment left that has not arrived so I have 2 pairs of boards available.

So the first 2 posts requesting boards will be shipped as soon as payment arrives.

I believe an original purchaser "may" have a pair he is willing to part with also. I will confirm with him before committing.

PLEASE NOTE:

****************************************************
There are no more boards after these 3 sets, so replacements will NOT be shipped. If something happens during shipment, I will refund the buyers money, as I will NOT have PCB's to send!

Output stage finished. Now to finalise the pcb...

Pavel: Yes boss! 🙂

Wim: No, not yet, I'm designing my own PCBs, and they are yet to be finalised. I am also still waiting on my big PSU caps. As for the heatsink temperature, I'm going to knock up a variable speed controller for the fan, then crank the bias as high as I can get it without too much noise.

All: Still looking to swap some 20K trimmers for 5Ks- will even go two for one! 🙂

Hey Pink,

The last time I made a P2P rig that nice looking, the amp produced wonderful sound for 3 mins then blew ... it's been 2 years, I have not had the heart to rip it open and trouble shoot. :bawling:

I wish you better luck, nice work... I see Stuart has been very busy with sharing his cache of 0.68's 😉

resistors

Coming at you from Toronto...

Hey Pink,

Work like that makes me proud to be a part of this group. I am ridiculously happy to have been a small part of so many awesome amps...

If anyone hasn't got resistors that wants them, I'll be back in Santa Cruz on or around the 29th, drop me an email and we can all be panasonically conjoined...

As an aside, last sunday I had the privilege to sit in on a full set practice for an upcoming gig, being played by the Disciples of Ursula Big band...man, reproduced music has a long way to go...

Largely unamplified, in a 40'x40' practice studio, I was in totally overwhelmed and in awe of the vocalist, a slide trombone, 2 trumpets, 4 sax of varying size, a clarinet, flute, keyboard, bass & rhythm guitar, and of course the drumset...I have been recalibrated, again...

Anyone in or around montreal that likes the big band sound should check out the gig next friday. I'll be there, look for the guy with the huge, mostly insane grin on his face.

K: Just stick some more outputs on it!

Thanks Stuart, I just hope it all works, or it will be a sculpture in mixed media on my mantlepiece!

Anyway, we've only seen pics of 2 1/2 clones so far. What are the rest of you guys up to? we need more! 🙂

Resize them to about 800x600, then just click on the choose file button at the bottom of the reply screen. That will give you a normal file selection window, pick your picture, then click submit reply as normal. Don't use preview as the pics won't show up. Oh, and they should be under 100K in size.

My first fotos (bad quality)

1 chanel, mounted on a windtunnel; PSU for 1 chanel is a toroid 2x30V 800 VA and a cap per rail from 47000 uF 63V. Toroid with softstarter, without it my fuses get out. (not on a foto yet).

With this PSU 1 get a nice 2x41V.
