Let's not insult each other's cars now. Unless this power is at idling 🙂

You might give the symasym a try ? It's a good sounding ClassAB, but i do not know how it performs compared to the Krell...

So are you saying that in your opinion, this KSA50 clone is NOT a good sounding amp? Have you built one?
Please offer a suitable replacement for DIY building. I am more than interested. I have built the ESP P101 and the Leach Low TIM, and to me, the KSA has a more musical sound. I woul dlove to build something that has this type of sound without the heat and wasted electricity.
You're not a washer are you?

Where do I find out more about the symasym?
Thanks, Terry

Hi Mike,
Hey I was following that thread for a while. It kind of got off track for a while and I stopped watching. I am interested in building that amp. Are you cool with us making our own boards? I thought maybe you were going to do a group buy or something. I wouldn't mind etching my own if that's OK. I'll read through the thread again.
Blessings, Terry
Hi Terry, for now you'll need to etch your own PCB, but maybe later when absolute final version is done a GB would be interesting. We should move this conversation to the symasym thread, it does not belong to the KSA...

Sorry guys, didn't mean to get off course. Just seems counterproductive for folks to come to a Class A thread and continue to berate Class A amps and those who design them. Once I got a chance to do some serious listening to my KSA, I began to understand why folks will put up with the heat and fan noise. I will continue to look for different designs to build but until I build one that sounds better than my KSA clone does I will continue to sing it's praises. 😀

Totally agree; respect due to the man for his constructive suggestions for board design, none due for his parotting 'you guys have it wrong' every time anyone mentions heatsinks.
HEATSINKS!
Big ones.... um, Big Capacitors!!
Jacco shall we gives these guys the link to Gengis's Big cap Thread? Uh-Oh, Digressing again. 🙁

Well, I had my new baby on for 5 hours last night, and the difference in power vs. my Aleph 3 was pretty solid. Also, Mark is definitely in the overbuild for safety camp, as we built the fan tower version, but the tower heat was so mild, I could always place my hand on the top. Fan noise was minimal, and worked very well. Yes, the bass is pretty amazing, but my offhand thoughts was the Aleph did a better job of presenting the upper timbre of piano passages. But this new clone only has a few hours on it. I will be burning it in heavy in the month of December!

If you lived in Wellington, you would encourage global warming😀
Hi,
Wellington must be getting pretty warm by now.
Time to switch the Krell Klone to summer bias.

Since we are wandering off again I want to say something also:

Yes, but i'll be sitting by the fire, I mean the krell clone, warming up and listening to music.
what??? It gets cold here in San Diego in December, down to 50F/10C at night. brrrrr.... the wife actually turned the heat on twice so far this month.

Yeah, but it sometimes gets really cold here, like 45F. I don't know if you know this, but when it gets THAT cold you can actually see your breath......
