I use the inverter idea if I want to run it from 12V, or in the case of a preamp because it's so much cheaper and easier.

Also, square waves are much easier to filter I find.

Hello,

I am developing something that might interest you.

The circuit is a DC-AC 5V module on this concept to power valves or smaller tubes. If it works as imagined, we enter in 15Vdc and we come out in 5Vac 50Hz sinus.

Sending a square signal in a tube, it seems a bit crude to me. I prefer send a real sinus.

Not yet tested. I am waiting for PCBs.
