The 8 in the HT sounds very nice, and the cones hardly move, maybe 1/4" or so.
.25" = 6.35mm. Xmax = 4.5mm according to parts express.
The Iso on the first few pics worked okay; hands down the T-TQWT is a better build.
I may go back and make a 4 woofer Iso box, with 2 10" PRs. I can design that in WinISD.
I bough extra woofers because this is it, when they are gone, they will be gone/discontinued.
And then there's the free shipping, after $98 bucks.

Have you compared this box directly with one of your isobarics? I read earlier where you said it didn't sound good but then after the stuffing was worked out you were pretty pleased with it, and you keep building more of them so I guess you like 'em. I was just wondering how you'd characterize one vs the other.
Hi ODougbo,
I wouldn't turn one of the woofers over in your single (2 woofers). the duct is not very big. But it would be interesting to hear if it makes a difference. In the 8x from Post #209 you have twice the duct area to play with.
I'm with NEO Dan on "...Iso box, say 4 drivers, where the 2 are now...": I don't think that would work well. To go Iso you really are looking at a complete redesign, and a much different box.
Regards,

I don't know.....second line says "Great Xmax and high power" and has a bumped back plate; although 4.5mm doesn't sound like much.
I used a straight edge and measured by pushing down (one direction) it drops a 1/4", easily.
Hi ODougbo,
"...8 is very cool."
Sounds good to me. 🙂

Regards,
TB46, that box is STUNNING! I hope you build one (or 2 or 4) Doug!
Hi BP1Fanatic,
Once you have something like NEO Dan's design, you can look at it as a module. 🙂

I almost have that now, only one bottom panel....on one of them now.
Probably gule that last panel up later today...I could plunk it on the existing one, with or without the last panel.
However, I think I get better results with the mouth at the floor (up 2", sitting on foam pads).

looks like it would make a good sized bed side cabinet 😀Adding the wires tomorrow; extra long 14gauge, speakers right to the amp (no connectors).
Going out the back panel this time around.
Just finished:
A little goofy, but they were built at different times, etc.
Surprising amount of bass, and I've been holding back on the volume.
8 woofers x 2.75lbs = 22+ lbs of "speaker". I wonder what the cone equivalent would be.
The bass is very fast; I saw bjorno's chart, but nothing to compare it too.

Hi ODougbo,
That's should rattle the walls. At 1226cm^2 it's about the same Sd as an 18" driver, e.g.: the Peavey 1801=1237cm^2.

Rotate all 4 boxes 90*, fire them into a corner, and tell us how they sound!
Sofa Box???
This was/is a fun build, it does shake the room, more than you would guess. The double wide box seemed to be stronger than two singles (but I did use thicker wire and a one-to-one connection).
I had a couple of ideas; maybe make a "tall" single; i.e. instead of double wide.
Plan: Build a double tall box; which should be 41" tall if the two "bottom" panels are removed.
The mouth would be 6" which would be good. Although that said, I do like the 8" x 12" piece of foam at the mouth. A plus would be that two drivers could be installed "upsidedown/backwards".

Hi ODougbo,
"...remove the bottom panel? (speaker on right, which is complete)."
Sounds correct. Would be an intersting speaker, wouldn't it?
