Wow that's quite drastic, and good. It has extended a heap and flattened a lot. That's a huge improvement, I never thought it would be that much!!
Hi,
The heard improvement is IME real. When I measured* a T-TQWT sub placed at a kitchen floor the presented FR and IR didn't correlate to the absolute smooth sound I heard when only listening at the T-TQWT throw a simple plate sub-amp.It sounded absolute flat(despite the also easy heard refrigerator hum and noise).

Update:
I made a few minor adjustments to the new boxes; they are sounding very nice, way better then expected. The bass is quite powerful and lowered the output setting 10db.
I was really only looking to build a "computer sub" but this went well above that.
The hookup was also somewhat easy, only using the 80Hz sub out from the HT processor right to a stereo amp; 4ohm per side.
I will hook them up the generator, just to get an idea where the bass drops off/out.

NeoDan,
This may be a good candidate, if the price is not through the ceiling $$.

Neo,
Maybe I should build the one on the right (post 89), will the same 6 1/2" driver work?

You'd need a few more drivers to handle the power...
1 amp per 2 cabs actually.
It's for the Aura 299-030Neo,

ohhhh woops, I bought a dozen more of them [299-114] PE must have a 100s of them.

btw, can't thank you guys enough, the HT never sounded better, but you do need a lot of them; 8 is very cool.

Oliver, you read my mind, in a way. I thought mounting a pair (or 2 pairs) Iso, face-to-face would be the way to go.
The 8 in the HT sounds very nice, and the cones hardly move, maybe 1/4" or so.
Thanks for the plan, will print full size and study it.............
Or I see that they don't mount face to face.

Hi ODougbo,
This is just your old plan doubled, and mirrored. 🙂 They are not face-to-face. That would require a redesign to allow for the change in T/S parameters. I also don't have a drawing for that particular speaker so I just inserted another 6.5"er.
Just expanding on your idea.

I see....that does bring up a question...do some mount the woofers "backwards" as you have shown. I like that idea to help attenuate the "highs". (xover is set at 80hz)
It seemed like that would good idea.
btw, rebuildng one this weekend, another double box.

Hi ODougbo,
Reversing the physical layout of e.g.: every other woofer would result in a reduction of distortion, and with the 8x arrangement you have enough room in the combined duct. Naturally, when one inverts a woofer physically one has to also invert the input polarity to that woofer, so that all drivers operate in unison.

ODougbo
I see you can't get enough of these little beast.
How many subs you build already
"...by Sunday: two double boxes and there will be a single left over."
Just to keep count: the double boxes are really 4 drivers and the singles are 2drivers, so two doubles give you your 8 drivers when you set one on top of the other.
Nice 🙂.

Regards,
I found that 4 (drivers) on one side of the room and the other 4 (drivers) other the side works the best. That's the way I had it before.
It's a nice little woofer to mess around with, i.e. shallow, good terminals, rubber suround.
It would be fun to build a Iso box, say 4 drivers, where the 2 are now.
Oliver, did you like the pic? Think I should try that?

Have you compared this box directly with one of your isobarics? I read earlier where you said it didn't sound good but then after the stuffing was worked out you were pretty pleased with it, and you keep building more of them so I guess you like 'em. I was just wondering how you'd characterize one vs the other.
That would not work well.It would be fun to build a Iso box, say 4 drivers, where the 2 are now.
