Is it possible to cover the whole spectrum, high SPL, low distortion with a 2-way?

The new TeXtreme Eminence N341-X just came in from parts express the other day and after 2 days listening they are performing stunningly in the JBL 2384s down to 490hz. That’s with miniDSP 48/@ 490hz is a real sweetheart! 30 years of speaker building and this is the best I have had yet! Im not jumping on the hype train. I’m just saying they are worth a look.

Looking forward to some measurements!

$349.99 at PE seems very reasonable.
This, however, must be a mistake:

As far as measurements I will see what I can do. Still figuring out Omnimic V2 I just got lol. Yes I bit the bullet to give em a try at $350 but no regrets. It looks to have the same design as this one but with the new TeXtreme diaphram?
Test Bench: Eminence N314T-8 with H14EA Horn and N320T-8 with H2EA Horn | audioXpress
Very similar design and response curve down low. I am very currious to see the distortion profile down low as well!

Yes, it's more-or-less the same driver.

1&2. N314X TexTreme diaphram.
4&5. N314/320T(itanium) diaphragm.

...Or just a plain and simple 75mm pure titanium diaphragm with Polyimide suspension?
Fs: 380Hz.

Unfortunately, the jazzed up curve doesn't tell us much, but I've seen this driver for less than 100 (don't ask me where 😉).

Exploded view of the Neo brother with full Titanium diaphragm.
Fs: 410 Hz.

The previous Ferrite version with Polyimide suspension looks better to me

These folks supposedly also manufacture 4" drivers, one with Beryllium diaphragm, but I couldn't find any data on those.

I would love to know if anyone has links to listening tests for the TeXtreme drivers. Also share listening opinions.

I have always disliked the sound of carbon fiber midranges so I would want to hear from alot of listeners before taking the plunge. My guess is the carbon fibers are sort of going from relaxed to stressed and not sounding so good.

So far, we've got one (positive) intial impression.
Perhaps Vance Dickason will submit the N314X to his test regime. I doubt it'll beat the Oberton, but considering its price it should at least be a serious contender.
