Thanks guys, but the thread is the fruit of shared commitment and common interest in loudspeaker technology,

An interesting short article on manifolded compression drivers.

I initially thought GM was a forum moderator
Beyma response curves are some of the most true to life representations I’ve come across. I was able to find community taken measurements to confirm that, I don’t think I can say the same for a lot of other big names.
GM is the brains behind this thread 😉
Beyma specifications and curves are indeed very reliable.
Differences between individual and factory measurements can be rooted in a number of causes, of which the horn used is just one.
Hmmm... tempting:

As shown in the specsheet of the CP-755Ti.
do it... mono!
Is there much merit in MTM design when dealing bass channels running 15" woofers for a domestic relatively low level listening environment?
The reason I like the really high efficiency setups are because even at low volumes, can hear all the details/dynamics still come through.
Thinking of chopping my beyma towers in half so I can play with 2 speaker setups. 1 with 1x 15" woofer + 1x 12" beyma coaxial. Other with 1x 15" woofer + horn/waveguided hf CD.

My system has around 95db sensitivity (after BSC), which is plenty even for low power amps.
For SET amps and the like you'd want more, also when you want the highest output at the lowest (thermal) compression,
but in general you won't miss much if you cut the cabs in half.

Obviously, dispersion and interaction with the room will change if you go from MTM to TM.
If possible, it's recommended to bring coax and woofer, but especially horn and woofer closer together.
The latter seems easy, because you'll have to cut a hole anyway, unless you want to put the horn on top (in a separate enclosure).

Finished the French thread. The guy had some communication with Faital about measured distortion, which was probably caused by a faulty unit.
Despite better measurement results and less EQ needed with the Beyma CP-755Ti, he preferred the sound of the HF144.

Any one know what drivers are used in the Zingali 1.2 Evo?
Heard these today and were very good. Looks like a 12" +1"
Bass was fabulous, good mids and highs. Very dynamic sound!!!
This would be something to replicate!

Interesting products. Some of the cones look like Ciare's offerings but hard to say for sure.
They really do sound very good. I have found out that in some of their speakers they are using B&C drivers. Would be interesting to know what ones.
Where is Mr Ro808?

Not the best picture but maybe someone knows.
The frame and motor structure looks very similar to Ciare.

ErnieM you beat me to it.
The reviewer claims the drivers are 18Sound 12" and Sica compression driver, both with presumably Neo magnets....
Obviously misleading info.

Audio Elite did you take a peek into the hornthroat and at the drivers, specifically the coating of the cone and the dustcap?
This could be the woofer:

- Is it possible to cover the whole spectrum, high SPL, low distortion with a 2-way?
