I ordered 8 and 7 are o.K.
One had an incredible high gate leakage. I just try to build a nice 10W SE amp using as starting point the Amp Camp circuit. For the upper part a SS R100 is used.
I still fight with the problem that the distortion figures only come down to 0.7% when I mistune the output node voltage not to half of the PSU voltage but
considerably higher, means much wattage for the SIT and less wattage for the SS.
And I still do not know why, if I find the reason or someone can tell me.........
I would be very happy....🙂

a high current tube rectifier will drop a lot of voltage, waste of power , and add of heat ... we are hot enough with the 2SK82 😀 tube rectifier are nice with low power low cap value in the power supply but with 100000UF CRC who really cares rectifier sound ?

By diyer curiosity you ready made PSU with CLC.
Choke in psu what real benefits for music ?
In this case Ironamp with choke filtered be one ultimate all irons
My big 100 000 uF caps is only max 50V rated think i connects him in series
Calculate the total capacitance Ct = (C1 x C2)/(C1 + C2) for voltage needed.
Other question : do You have experiment in L'Amp
change resistor to little choke in signal path if yes what happen ?

i have mase a CLC with theinductor sit amp , better than a CRC but don't forget this amp run at 2 Amp .. so the chokes are big ..

for the ironamp just make a power supply like you would do fir a powerfull tube amp "just" 350ma here. but far the caps it"s 160V minimum

Hm, I threw it already away....
I try to remember....
In the curve tracer from locky-z the part behaved normal.
But in vivo it sucked the gate bias voltage, normaly going from 5V to 0V away,

I could not control over the gate voltage the drain bias over the level all the others did.....

Sorry I do not remember better......and I excuse for un precise explanation.....

Némésis amplifier have psu with choke too
100 000 uF caps 40V max tension rated is easier to find.
For Ironamp if must be 160 V this is huge voltage rate !
What be minimum total psu filter capacity for nice mono block ?

One problem I see, out of 12 i had on my table there are two that seem to have too high gate leakage.
Today I build in one that showed with 1A6 at the 47k gate biasing resistor 1V75......
So ........ some surprise included......!

I will write them.....will be interesting what they will answer.....

it's time for you to build something with the 2SK82 , so much way to do it , single ended , pushpull, active load , choke load , resistor load ,bulb load . fixed bias , source resistor bias , etc...
you 'v got many days of happiness and headache with it.
and let the big boys play with Tokin Sit ( i'm not included)😀

I'm happy to see that the Tokin SITs might be at least semi-legit. I might buy some, I might emulate them with big mosfets....

Mike R. gave me in a private e-mail the hint that 1.75V/47000R gives a current of 0,000037234042553A.
So we have only 37 uV gate leakage. Under 100uV is o.k.

Sometimes I write nonsense, sorry!
The truth is more that I had only 4V bias voltage available and taking these 1.75V away I could not adjust the drain bias to the wanted level.

So at least one SK180 is not so bad as I thought.....
