if you're asking about mains xformer , that would be 40Vct to 48Vct (2x20 to 2x24Vac)
at least 10W per channel
that one inside is goof both for SE ( one buffer per channel ) and Bal ( two buffers per channel) , being twice 40Vct (each channel having own secondary) and 30W
say that 20W is lowest practical limit for toroid size ...... smaller than that are just PITA to make
if you're asking about VAC iron ..... explained few times in thread - they're mine , custom made on Hitachi Metglas cores

yup
speaking of SE , dual mono (dedicated secondary or entire xformer for each channel pcb) is natural form of preamp , having dedicated channel pcbs , with cutting one trace on Turtle pcb
for common xformer secondary for both channels , that trace leaves intact
in any case , everything will be covered in Cook Book

when I prefer to have the mains-cabelage inside the box, i guess it wouldn´t be a problem to run them within an iron tube for isolation (connected to chassis ground)?
Remember you lesson about "single" cables trough holes as nogo and your advice to do it in pairs.
best,
st.
very nice btw, : )
ahrrr, TWO bottoms!! : ), too late

old VGA cables are having pretty nice coax/shield inside
perfect for screening of mains routes , when there is no double bottom
you can see that screen trick used in various builds in my blog

Excellent. I'll take one in any color as long as it's black.
What case does that front plate fit?

Thanks Zen Mod.
I have a Pesante 3HE/400 case for a K&K Audio 4P1L project. It's a nice case, but Iron Pumpkin-ers should know it is quite large.
Personally, I like large - but just a heads up (or should I say, pumpkin heads up ?) for others.

I believe it'll be Zen Source in next specimen![]()
Really great looking Preamplifier. My hands are itching and I`ll be watching this topic very closely.
