How critical is the value of 470uf for C12? Obviously I forgot to put a small 470u cap in my Mouser Cart and can't find much in the drawer. I do have a 1000u that will fit.

My day was going to be cut the grass quickly and finish up the PSU and test it - the best laid plans always fall prey to the Wiley Coyote

mower wouldn't start which sent me to the hardware store for the bits needed to service said mower and after much fun, I got to mow the lawn. I had left my car outside and when I went to pack it away, it was covered in small sticky seeds with the sap baking onto the paint - a much needed wash and polish and all was good in the universe

Here is where I ended up last night.

I somehow didn't catch that I needed 15R and 18R resistors and didn't double up on the 20R trimmer , so waiting to find all my errors and will then order the final bits.

Great work Kevin , and nice find on the amazon relays, I ordered the 2A options from fujitsu before I saw your post - never think to look at amazon

Source of M1 to Anode of ZD1 = ~13 Vdc.

I'm using 12V relays.

you're good - it'll go down with relay coils loading ; not that 13V will do any harm, but it'll go down

go for it - it'll prolong On/Off time for mode switching relay, (not) big deal......

edit: you clipped just a thumbnail, not much info there

anyhow, we all know to find it in post #1

somewhere back I explained how to with 18R/15R resistor positions

bet that some Greedy Boy is remembering which post that was

relays - I prefer brand name there, though had my share of sin, using other when Taka was unobtanium; Zettler is proven, for instance

My metal work sucks…I’d totally butcher that thing. Actually I have friend (retired machinist) who has a small shop behind his house. I’ve been having him do my machining. He’s not so good of a friend he doesn’t charge me though. So when I saw the chassis Jim had, I knew it was worth getting just to save the time and effort of having that back panel made by my “friend”.
