Missing a single small piece worth less than shipping is always frustrating. I purchased a bulk pack of resistors from Amazon, on 6L6s advice, that has already been repeatedly handy, for just those scenarios.
That and I hoard parts…. 😉
Speaking of hoarding, I ended up going for the balanced build both because it was the only one available by the time I saw the email for ordering and because I assumed the gain would be more than sufficient for most applications, factoring in sensitivity of amps and speakers I’m likely to use it with ( primarily the M2X )
If I need more….Wayne’s 2018 pre.
If more than that, BA3-FE or overpriced and mesmerizing glass bulbs ( F4 )
🙂

Appreciate the email heads up for the completion kits but mine was completed DIY style a long time ago. Nothing particularly hard to find and most of it I jad. Apart from a few small items. Hopefully get the thing singing soon.
Just planning ahead... On the SUPER MEGA DELUXE version, are the relays connected with common Pos? Or common Neg, like in the first batch needing the mod described by Zen Mod to facilitate digital activation?
Or are the schematics available perhaps so that I can check it myself?

logically - once when we made it so every Greedy Boy can finish it in saving own but from leaving da chair fashion, it became new black

All done now with assembly, wiring and adjustments. Just need to do function test, then tidy up the wiring and close it up before putting Iron Pre into one of our systems. Yipee!
That worked! Ordered mine, thanks.^ Nope, no boat has been missed. Should be up in the store... "soon"...
They're at the distributor, and a few boxes need to be checked on the "web-logistics" side of life (per a note from Jason).
So... any day now...
Edited to add - This brings up a good point in my mind though... since it's been a minute since the initial kits were sold through, I'll shoot a note to Jason to see if he can send out a quick e-mail blast to those that bought kits to let them know that there are 'completion' kits in the store. A lot of folks may not track this thread. Thanks!

It would be cool to print this on a water transfer label and apply it to a silver-colored panel, or reverse it in white for a black panel. I've used these "waterslide" labels on guitar amps - may give this a go with my IP.
yup, official DIY logo
Is there a higher-res file for the logo available?
So, after 2 hours of using the Iron Pre with my newly built Aleph 30 handling the full range speaker, and a bigger amp managing the 15" woofers in the SLOBs, I can say that the entire system has jumped up another increment in sound quality. Great definition, very good frequency response and apparent flatness, excellent detail and dynamics. Vocals and acoustic music sounded excellent, and seemed to have more dimensionality. It doesn't have as much gain as my other preamps, but there is more than enough for the power handling capacity of the speaker drivers.
What a treat! Thank you, ZM!
