Ahhh Ha!
I see the plan now, smart move.
Yeah, favorite parts are disappearing. Surface mount will be the only way to continue in this great hobby!
Keep up the wonderful work IAIMH!!

It is probably a good idea to describe periodically the meanings/directions for such talk as Quasimodo stuff. Pictures help some, but the actual use and understanding for what almost appears to be an inside joke, is not something everyone (especially new people in the community) have the faintest idea of what is being discussed.
@Ixnay
One nice thing to remember is that the Quasimido stuff is 100% optional. Is it beneficial? Absolutely.
But if you don't know the value for the transformer you are using, (Check Quasimodo results thread here - https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/quasimodo-results-only.313202/page-8#post-7536467) you do need a Quasimodo tool, and an oscilloscope.

as far I can see - @Gyuri didn't put snubbers in his build ( as is appropriate, due my ookup) - post https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...re-register-your-interest.390509/post-7525516
now, I believe we can trust in his measurements, post https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...re-register-your-interest.390509/post-7538620
all I can see - all left from 1K is totally illogical, and can be explained as random weed
conclusion - snubbers are really OCD thing in this case
so, totally justified!

All of my OCD is optional. Why I spend the extra time that I do on one detail but not another is questionable. Everything has to be so heavy duty or I am not happy. There is nothing worse to me than a cheap chassis. I usually stiffen bottom plates as a rule.
My questions are answered for this mornings' SODUKO. And now, back to our regularly scheduled program.
I am sorry if I have stupid idea about impedance.
I read from some internet source, high input impedance and low output impedance is good in general.
If I use 10k L-pad and cinemag autoformer+6db,what is input impedance and output impedance?

preamp's Rin dictated by declared R of Volume attenuator you're using
Preamp's Rout being Rout of buffer (30-40-ish ohms) multiplied by Voltage Gain^2 (impedance transfer ratio of autoformer)
for gain of 6db, that's 2^2
for gain of 12db, that's 4^2

it seems half of your fun was with that not-so-flat cable ......
btw. nice detailing with heatshrinks

What are those test point posts called? Same question for the blocks that the transistors plug into. Do those use a set screw?Just completed my Christmas project. Throughly enjoyable build and excellent sounding preamp.
Big thanks to Zen Mod.
I have the balanced unit. I want to be able to use two inputs: one XLR and one RCA. So I will use two relays per board. Instead of using the selector switch can a toggle switch be used to switch between the two inputs? How many pole toggle switch would be needed?
2 position miniature toggle switch
1 section - for SE, left one on pic
1 section per board - for Bal, right one on pic

The test pins are Multicomp TEST-22. They are excellent for clipping your test leads to leaving you with a free hand to dial in the pots. Datasheet attached. What are those test point posts called? Same question for the blocks that the transistors plug into. Do those use a set screw?
The IC sockets are Omron part number XR2C-0311-N. Invaluable for enabling you to correct errors (the number of times I’ve put things in backwards) and allow parts to be swapped between projects. As you install the IC in the socket try not to apply too much pressure and things can go sideways pretty quickly.
Trick to installing both flush with the PCB (without getting your fingers burnt) is to push down with cotton wool buds (Q-tips) while soldering (no screws required).
