Ahoj přátelé
a @iancanada
Dnes dorazila nová zvuková karta:
Modul digitálního audio rozhraní IAN CANADA TRANSPORTPI DIGI II s ultra nízkým jitterem.
https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/dac-and-interface-modules/ian-canada-transportpi-digi-ii-p-19555.html

Josef

Translation:

Hello friends
and @iancanada
Today a new sound card arrived:
IAN CANADA TRANSPORTPI DIGI II digital audio interface module with ultra low jitter.
https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/dac-and-interface-modules/ian-canada-transportpi-digi-ii-p-19555.html
The card, operated on 5V from the raspberry, works correctly!
My question!!??
I want to use the 3.3V sound card power supply!
I don't have the IAN Canada power supply yet, I used a laboratory power supply
set to 3.3V /1A connected to the J3 screw connector according to the documentation and by removing the J2 and D1 jumpers the POWER diode is on but the sound card does not work?
What else should I set??
Thank you very much for your help, maybe for a stupid question....
Josef

Can anyone recommend a good AC/AC transformer to use with the new LinearPi Pro that will allow me to get the full 5 amps at 5V, for use with a raspberry pi 5?. Preferably something sealed like a wall/floor wart but I'm not sure they make them with that many amps. Also preferably with the secondary at 6V so I can use a UC Pure in the future.

Thank you in advance.

Friends,

I prepared a short video Video Volumio of my raspberry VOLUMIO player

where I replaced the sound card with a new one from IAN CANADA.

IAN CANADA TRANSPORTPI DIGI II Ultra Low Jitter Digital Audio Interface Module

https://www.audiophonics.fr/…/ian-canada-transportpi…

It has taken another big step in terms of sound!

There will be another update:

  • Another LIFEPO4 MINI Battery Power Supply Module 3.3V
  • IAN CANADA ISOLATORPI III Galvanic Insulation Module
  • IAN CANADA DOP DECODER DoP to Native DSD Decoder Bord

Hello,

I'm having a problem getting my Amanero 786->BridgePi->FifoPi Q7->HdmiPi mkii DDC to work.

Previously I was using the exact same HATs directly on the raspberry pi and it was working. But now when connecting the pi to this DDC via USB, the fifoPi never shows any input or output LEDs being lit. The monitorPi never turns on. No audio through the connected DAC.

First I tried with a gpio extender to get better spacing between the Amanero and the FifoPi:

Then I tried with the FifoPi directly on the BridgePi, making sure nothing was touching and the Amanero pins were covered with electrical tape:

Same issue both ways.

The IanCanada battery PSU is connected to the FifoPi power in, and I am using all u.fl connections between the FifoPi and HdmiPi. Confirmed the S switch settings are correct on the hdmiPi.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

OK, I got it to work. Seems it was a power issue. While I did have the 3.3V hooked up to the FifoPi, it seemed to also need the power coming through the gpio pins. I added a UC power supply beneath the BridgePi, with pin headers inserted into the female gpio pins, and the spring pins on the UC psu aligned correctly.

Sounds great!

New & improved DDC! Takes up less space and sounds just as good. My system as a whole now sounds better actually, since switching to the UC/LifePo4 PSU freed up a power output on my Allo Shanti to feed the rpi5, which was previously fed by an ifi PSU.

Currently sits on standoffs. Trying to decide whether to get spike feet or make an enclosure 🤔

Just finished my first HDMI transport build - this is just a proof of concept to make sure it will work with my DAC.

  • RPI4
  • StationPi Pro
  • FifoPi Q7II
  • HdmiPi Pro II

UcPure mk III is coming for the 3.3V supply - waiting for the 3D printed brackets.

I have installed Volumio and Roon Bridge on RPi4. I was able to make a DAC work via the USB. So far so good.

I have a HDMI setup question:

At Volumio web setup page > audio outputs menu, I have enabled I2S DAC and there is a pull down menu with a list of compatible I2S DACs.

Which one should I use to make the HDMI output on the HDMI PiPro II board work ?

I have connected a PS Audio DAC via HDMI and noticed the red LED went ON on the HDMI Pro board, while the whole transport is powered down. It seems some voltage is flowing from the DAC to the transport (i.e. backwards).

I read somwhere it means a resistor needs to be removed from HDMI Pro board (?). I was hopeing the board is PS Audio standard compatible...
