Hi sabrex !
if you return the 400w lamp to me and $5, I will send the new special lamp, special develop and manufacture the lamp for HQI electromagnetic ballast. A 400w electromagnetic ballast would probably be able to run the 400w new special lamp, new special lamp need 100 volts
😉
Hello ywh,
That would be great, how do you want me to send you the 5$? Do I need to send the socket along with it, or does it use the same ones? Thanks ywh.

Hi YWH,
Are these new lamps you are talking about, that can work on a HQI ballast?
If so, is it only for the 400watt lamp? Do you have ones for the 250watt as well? What are the specifications etc?

no,you don't need send the socket along with it,pay 5$ to 18.
you need write my Chinese address,do you have a Chinese friend?

yes, that can work on a HQI ballast, but that work not longer by this time. I not know the life of the new lamp.for the moment
I have two type only:
400watt lamp,AC, double end.
250watt lamp,AC, double end.
Hello ywh,
I can have your chinese address written. What is your full chinese address? The return address does not seem to be complete. Thanks.

Do you have specifications for the new bulb?
Arc length?
Color temp?
CRI?
Dimensions?
Ballast type?
Life (hrs)?
Yes, the above specs would be great to know.
Will the HQI be the optimum ballast to use, in terms of the output voltage and current being supplied by the ballast, is exactly what the bulb needs?

the engineer tell me , the specifications for the new bulb is like the old lamp,Color temp,CRI,Dimensions,Life ,
the Effective Arc Length is 5mm.
HQI ballast :
output voltage about 100V
and current: about 2.45A

with HQI ballast do you mean a "non-electronic"-ballast?
do I see this right, that a e-ballast will extend the life of these bulbs?

volts AMPs and color temp:
Form my experience with this lamps, you need the right spec for the ballast.
Too much current and less voltage = hot lamp and warmer color temp
150W YWH lamp at the recommended 150W ballast:
75V and 2.0A = 7500K 1000h
150W YWH lamp at my 150W ballast:
60V and 2.5A = ~4500K-5000K and the lamp turned gray after about 20 hours!
I know it sould be 6500K but still, can some one that have PMA161X ballast and YWH 250W lamp, tell me more or less ,what is the color temp of the lamp ?
Is the color of the white in the projected picture, tending to green (or blue)?
Thanks Shlomid

welcome!
yes! the HQI ballast is a "non-electronic"-ballast.
but a e-ballast, the voltage is invariablenes,about 130V-140V.
that is not good.
but the the voltage of some e-ballasts is 100V, that is good.
