Is it exactly the same grounding layout? Same two capacitor oceans, same wiring and position of how power, returns and signal guards are connected together?...except that in LeMonstre is much more Capacity...
If that is the case, there should not be a difference. But there is. So, at least one connection is different.
All those capacitors... with one leg on the ground plane... over some measurable distance... ripple currents in the oceans... sweet spot... a distributed ground plane.
Two pictures of both inner wirings may show the difference. I'm curious.

thanks for the replies 🙂
yes its exactly the same work, except of the two 3F capacitors in LeMonstre

where's the deer deer deer?
I've thought a long time of applying such an ocean of smaller capacitors as current containers for an Hiraga; it's nice to see the idea is more common. And a aesthetic architecture: electronics, synthetics, metal and wood!
Yet, where's your Scarbo hidden in the amp?

solution or not
today i angry disassembled the amps modules. put it back on the floor an arranged the items one after the other.
First the torroid, then rectifiers, then Cap-Block as one piece as seen in picture, then heatsink with pcb. Quick soldered with long wires.
Switched it on and ------ tattaaaa---- no noise at all.??!!
The only thing i changed, was that i did not connect the mains ground to the ground of psu.
dont unterstand that...

Nice pcb thimios.
Hi all. My hiraga power supply before load is 16v.but after load drop to 12v.any suggestion for class a amp psu? One more question, what difference between schottky and ultra fast diode? Which suit for audio powersupply?

Your power supply is low wattage.
What is your transformer VA range?

Thimios.. I use this circuit. But supply only 16vdcWhat version of Hiraga are you built?

This circuit can't be well function with this low voltage.
Is your transformer a 2x12v type?
Is your power supply, after rectifier +/-16v?
What capacitors you are using?
How many uf?
0.2F=22000uf.
You will need about 60.000uF IN THE + RAIL
and 60.000uF IN THE - RAIL.
I don't know What RD22 zener voltage is.
If it is 22v zener you will need something like +/-25v power supply.
Ather way is need to reduce the value of 1.1K.
May be the 1k in the driver stage need to adjust for 1mA too.
I don't know if amplifier remain stable, after modifications.

Hi, I'm building the Hiraga 8W, but I have a doubt having the power supply with +/- 10.20V (instead of 12V) the bias courrent is always 600mA or should I decrease it? Thank you in advance
It is 15% less on the rail, so 500mA corresponds with it.
Observe how it behaves, listen how it sounds. Adjust if needed.
Mine runs on 2x12.7V and some 1A. Serious metal chunks keeps cool.

This is a different amp.
Please use "Le class A thread"
This thread is for "Le Monstre"
I hope this helps

With a power supply of +/- 19V the output power is 13W at 8 ohms. FFT also looks good.
I’m getting some more parts coming in this week, so I’ll try with other faster output transistors and reduce the resistor values in the collectors to 0.5 ohms.

Finally Finished!
Finally my Hiraga brothers I finished my amplifier! Now I know this is the thread for the "le monstre" but it's also where most of you guys hang out for all things Hiraga.
So may i present my version of the Super Class 30W as inspired by Daniel, Sadik, sergiu2009, shambala and many others.
Thanks for all those that helped and gave advice, special thanks to Danieljw who helped me finish this!

Lovely quality workmanship inside, perhaps a glass top to view when working!
I hope you're 100% pleased with it including the audio output, and it gives you many years of listening pleasure.

Thanks Aubmar, yes I plan to get a perspex sheet made with air vents cut out! Just letting it play so it all burns in nicely.
