Not suggesting - It's a fact. 🙂You are suggesting that I may not need the green cable between Cronus and opus ,if I am powering both from same digital supply.
Looking at you solder joints - they look like they may have cold joint (it is hard to say from the pics). You may want to retouch and use a bit of flux. Make sure the solder flows well to the pads - but don't over heat.
@Twluke - he has already got it working.
Thanks. I deleted my message.
Anyway, many, many congratulations, kinku!
Russ ,I read somewhere along that there is a risk of bricking BBB if I do not follow a power down sequence. It is also there in Miero's site
The current driver shuts down the "cape power switch" right before BBB power down.
! This might not be safe for BBB if cape does not shut down immediatelly too.
! The next driver will have configurable delay between cape shut down and
! BBB shut down.
so does it mean I need to follow a manual powering down sequence of some kind?

You need to do a clean shutdown before you remove power.
Just do a bit of research on the beaglebone.
You can do:
shutdown -h now
or
poweroff
You will want to use a battery for the long term so that the BBB shuts itself down properly on power loss.

You can check if MPD is listening with:
Code:kramer@beaglebone:~$ sudo netstat -lptv
Thanks lintweaker, I get the same results as you. I'm not sure what to do with the information though!

So it is only for BBB , and it should not be unplugged before power off.
But what does cape do to power it down?or cape has to do with power down.
is it for those powering BBB through Hermes?
The cape does nothing for power down.
You just must ensure that you do not apply any non-isolated inputs to the BBB while it does not have good power.

I have an unused Opus Dac laying around. Is it possible to adjust the volume on dac level using squeezelite (connected with Cronus to BBB)?
