Yes , I would buy this - www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-DSA215-8-8-Designer-Series-Aluminum-Cone-Woofer-295-530 - I own 2 , and they
can actually handle a Badger ! Nice smooth bass for a 8"...
I have bought (and returned) a RSS315-HE22 (china) , they skimped on the glue and the VC fell from the cone. At least PE is good on the refunds.
Also bought a LS12-44 sub , they glued it but the VC was mis-aligned - WOW !
Both the Dayton's were rather noisy at high excursion. Plastic china pistons
So , I took a chance and bought a real USA driver - ULTRA LV12SQ. I was surprised at the bolted spider and NO noise , even at 30mm P-P. I was
looking at a similar ADERE audio 12" for 449$ , similar 60L/.4Qts high end/high excursion. It seems with PE , you have to go 400+ to get SQ.
The Ultra actually has more desirable specs (90+dbSPL) they even bolted and glued the spider.
I heard the Dayton's , various Skar (not bad ...SDR-D12) , not even in the same league. The LV was the only one that was silent at a 25mm "break-in".
I only have a 200W Wolverine AB amp , the LV ran the amp coolest after an hour. All the famous OEM name brands are in a "race to the bottom" with
scam wattage ratings and shoddy workmanship. Dayton included.
Oooh , the Morel UW1258 - nice ... but 700$ - yikes !!

A few months ago I went on the warpath looking for something like a pair of 10’s I had from MCM eons ago. Trying to get a sealed box 8 or 10” to have an in-box resonance in the low 50’s, with a Qtc under 1, but not too far under. Slim pickings. Either too much motor or not enough. Ended up with the Dayton classic aluminum cone - and I got one of the last pairs available. Another one bites the dust - now NLA.

One possible way to save your project (box) is to convert it to a capacitor assisted sealed box. Stuff heavily the enclosure with polyester wool, stuck a piece of acoustic foam firmly into the vent in order to sealed it and connect a bipolar electrolytic capacitor 560μF in series to the positive woofer terminal. This might help greatly!
