This entire thread has had me smiling with pleasure and amusement from the beginning. Codyt's clever generosity, JSA1971 fortune and the response of this remarkable community. And to top it off, Nelson's unexpected gift to us.lucky.few.
Wow-o-Wow!
Really, where else in the world do these sort of events occur?

I love this place. Congrats to the lucky winners and much respect to codyt and Nelson for their generosity.
Thank you for your hard work put into this Codyt! And thanks again to Mr. Pass (and Codyt) for donating these rare devices
I'm still torn between Aleph J SS or J2 with mosfet CCS
I already have a built Aleph J so that might be good to modify

For those who’ve already built (or plan to build) an Aleph J with the store boards, the modification can be as simple as replacing the two output mosfets (bottom half / negative rail) with a single SJEP. Having the offset and bias pots installed give you the necessary flexibility to adapt to differences in Vgs, etc. I did a lot of playing around with sources resistors, but the ‘stock’ values are a sure bet.
IRFP150 works great. Right now, I just have a single IRFP240 in the upper position. I figured if the F8 can do it, I’ll give it a try 🙂
Great than Irfp240 it will be. Is my understanding correct that you want to keep Q5 because Q6 source pin is not connected directly to the Aleph CS ?

I believe that’s correct, or at least that’s how I’ve built mine.
It’s also worth mentioning that it’s perfectly fine (even preferred) to leave the current limiting portion in the circuit (Q3, R13 and 14.) In some cases you may have to adjust the voltage divider of R13 and R14 to keep the circuit from limiting too low, but I’d bet most will be just fine with the standard values.

So just removing them both sounds easy enough. Does it matter which position (inner most or outer) the SS gets put in? Also, is it safe to assume that the associated resistors for the removed output mosfet can stay in if one were to just use an already populated J board?
Thanks again btw for sharing your findings!
JSA1971, Here’s a picture of mine for reference. No issue to leave in the source resistors, etc for the mosfets you remove. I used some big 5W resistors, but that’s not necessary. The standard 3W are fine (that’s what I use now).

My choice:
J2 with IRFP150 & SS
That’s a good one. ZM’s Babelfish J2 is amazing. I’ve not tried the EUVL boards, but I imagine they’re as close you could get to the J2
UDNeSS and J2 are close to another, but little things ... ;-)
If I would build another (J2) amp I would try the EUVL version, from my side a clear go. 🙂 And left the SS for the J2 when it comes out or for the F8 (it could be)?

I’m keeping a ‘waitlist’ for those who weren’t on the list of ‘winners’ but have contacted me with hopes that some SS will go unclaimed. So far that hasn’t happened (and doesn’t seem likely), but if you’re a ‘winner’ who has since realized you already have some SS in the drawer or think you’ll never get around to using them, let me know and I’ll make sure someone on the waitlist gets them. Again, this doesn’t seem likely, but I feel obligated to mention it.
Cody, I would have loved to win a pair of these and build a single ended amp with them. Please put me on that list!
(I once saw the generous offer of a pair of the lovoltech jfets, LU1014 I believe, sent to those who wished to build something with them. I was not doing much DIYing so I passed on that one, left them for those who would build.)

I'm missing paypal email from seven people or so. If you haven't completed this form yet (and your name was on the list of entrants), please try and get to it this weekend. Thanks!

What if just maybe.. some of those people sent form but something went wrong in the process.
How would they know you still dont know their PayPal email?

I'm working on identifying the specific people who owe the info. Plus, I won't ship until I have an answer/info from everyone. No worries!
Ok, here's the list of people that still owe me paypal address, or their form submission did not go through. Either way, if your name is listed below, try and complete the form this weekend if you're still interested in the parts: Nelson's SS Giveaway

By no means I intend to be impolite to yours or mine, but if there is virtual "reservist" seat I could take, I would do so.
