I think it depends on if you want to source some of your own parts or not, and what gain you need. If lowMC, need a quad of 2sk369bl.

Glad to see the phono kit is still available. Mine is still running great! Seems like I remember a chart of sorts that indicated switch positions
for various cartridge out puts. I have been using a high output MC, 2 if I recall. Am about to re mount a couple oldies, A Shure V15 xmr something or other and also a new in box Ortofon Super OM 30. IIRC, both of these have outputs double the MC, about 5 or so. Going to post #1 to begin my sniffing. I asked all this when I built this, its here somewhere.

Been a while since I poked around, I recall a (I thought) link to a build guide/article, had set up, setting TP, swith positions and so forth?

Found the chart, and other setting info in the Simplistic NJFET riaa thread, around posts 17,791-792 area.
The build guide I keep thinking of is for the DCG3 which I bought/built contemporaneously. But, I recall discussion about resetting TP when
changing gain. I did this previously, but it has been a minute. Where do I relocate this info?

I thought I remembered setting TP at 4, perhaps I am recalling some other device. Do you mean TP is 30-34V?
In the end, they both sounded fine. The Super OM30 somehow was dead. One of its rear pins can pull out, not sure how that happened. Found
Super OM 5 for 80 buck on line. Put the OM30 stylus on and I am back in business.
After playing with them several days, new cartridge came, Lo Output MC. AT 33 ptg/2 which is just breaking in. Sounds great with powerful bass
