There three shunt regulator shematics with different fet transistors depend what you can find. In attached BOM I suggested what source resistor to use for different fets.

Probably you could looking on the datasheet, but I don't have spice model to simulate it. You don't need to put it in parallel.

I forgot to show simulated shunt regulator output impedance and how the J2 and J3 source currents influence it.

Today I also received the board for the WHAMMY, and I will be ordering the board for the DCG3 headphone amplifier from Salas. There are never enough headphone amplifiers.

I'm already curious about the duel of these 3 opponents:

1. Gainwire MK3
2. WHAMMY with Burson V6 Vivid
3. DCG3

I just finished and test today. My own layout. Sound very good bass is fast lively sound.
The picture is quit messy but dead quiet.

What is your opinion on the inclusion of dc protection (SSR) between GainWire and headphone. Is such protection justified or unnecessary since GainWire contains a dc servo?
