GainWire Mk3 CFA pre/phone amp with very low distortion

GW NGNFB has better harmonic profile (mostly secon and third ) and better SNR (volume control after gain block) but higher THD compared to mk3 with GNFB. Listening to both preamps I can't decide which one to prefer (to old to judge in a listenig test) but techicaly I prefer NGNFB.

I guess if you pay for something it should have been built and tested. 😢 Audio electronics should be no different from industrial electronics. You only make a final model when everything is 100% correct. I assume audio is not life threatening like say the ABS on your car or flight control on a 747, but never-the-less one should pay attention to everything you do. The connectivity check should have picked this up on the first run.. The 747 crashed because a track on the PCB was left off. Even if you had dual redundancy, the other system will have the same fault. 😱 Oops, no big error just some people I don't know or care for are dead- Sorry, I will fix it next time.

Not a dig at you DADOD, the problem is mainly that we are too much in a hurry to get a design out there and small things get ignored and adds up to total catastrophe. Was the two F-16s in Ukraine and error by the pilot or did some systems not respond to the danger to take evasive action?

It does not matter how qualified an engineer or physician or what ever profession you chose, a mistake remains a mistake, there are no small mistakes.

I am not sure what you mean, but if you whant to build balanced preamp out of GW mk3 CFA you have to have two boards, one for balanced left channel and one for balanced right channel. It means that instead of left and right channels on one board it is balanced from the input to the output for one channel only.
