Well, my friends, I'm done...
It's all in the original GainWine MK3 box so don't let it confuse you. At the moment I don't want to waste 50€ on a new panel.
Replacing it with an alps potentiometer helped, no unwanted noises during regulation. Sound great!
When there will be new GainWire modules in SMD version, I will definitely take 2 pieces and redesign the panel to make the Push Button flush (to make it look like it's from the same series).

That looks great! Inspires me to build one in the future.
Can you share links to the soft start and protection boards you used?

You realy don't need soft start, instead use deleyed line output using 555 and relay. Regarding protection, output is low power and in my opinion not needed here.
New SMD version will have about 3W output power on 10 ohm and it will have DC output detection integrated in the power supply (overcurrent protection too).

Damir, It looks great!
All on 1 board, minimum cable connections! When can we expect the pcb, ...up by Christmas? 😊😊😊

Can you tell more abouth the sound, have you used some low impedance headphons?Well, my friends, I'm done...

Have you tried it with different power amplifiers?
One good combination with this preamp is mosfet lateral amp here: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/lateral-cfa-120w-bsa.338814/
Hi all,
1, the sound of the headphones is very good
2, In combination with astx power amplifier it gives very good dynamics better than SMSL H400.
I don't know about other builders but this version of the Non GBFB from the middle of the potentiometer has quite a lot of noise. The MK3 version was quieter...
Maybe it's my fault 🙄

I checked my preamp and there is no noise even at full volume. With headphones connected and no signal at the input and full volum I can't hear any hint of noise. The same with power amp and loudspeaker. Actually noise should be lower then with GW mk3 CFA type.

If the new smd board will be ready and tested, I will take 1. I have another astx project with vertical mosfets planned for the winter season.🙋
As close as possible but it is not critical. Practically there is no mutch between npn and pnp transistors. Perfect match will cancel even harmonics and second harmonic is good for sound (so called single ended amplifiers with high second harmonic , specially tube, are adored by audiohpiles).
I use this tool to match transistors https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....order_list.order_list_main.16.6d2c18021FdUmI
