GainWire line/phone non GNFB preamp

Well, my friends, I'm done...
It's all in the original GainWine MK3 box so don't let it confuse you. At the moment I don't want to waste 50€ on a new panel.

Replacing it with an alps potentiometer helped, no unwanted noises during regulation. Sound great!

When there will be new GainWire modules in SMD version, I will definitely take 2 pieces and redesign the panel to make the Push Button flush (to make it look like it's from the same series).

All my power amps have gain of 28 dB, and the GW gain was set to 12 dB (gain = P1/R19 10k/2.5k equal 4 times). As most of new sources(DAC) give 2 to 4 Vef output my setup has to much gain and I changed GW NGNFB gain to 5 dB by changing R19 to 5k6.

Can you tell more abouth the sound, have you used some low impedance headphons?
Have you tried it with different power amplifiers?
One good combination with this preamp is mosfet lateral amp here: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/lateral-cfa-120w-bsa.338814/

Hi all,
1, the sound of the headphones is very good
2, In combination with astx power amplifier it gives very good dynamics better than SMSL H400.

I don't know about other builders but this version of the Non GBFB from the middle of the potentiometer has quite a lot of noise. The MK3 version was quieter...
Maybe it's my fault 🙄
