" Key parts include a 0.75" horn-loaded textile-dome tweeter from Denmark's Vifa and a 7" SEAS paper woofer from Norway, both made to DeVore's specifications. John is always tight-lipped regarding his crossover designs (and crossover points), but he will yack copiously about the tweeter and woofer implementation.

"Design and Description
John told me that for the O/Baby speakers, he tried an array of three 8-inch and three 6.5-inch drivers, all based on the original Orangutan recipe. He used the same type of paper, motor structure, and the same ideas behind keeping the impedance smooth and relatively high. John ended up going with the 6.5-inch drivers that use neither a Whizzer nor a phase plug in the cone. The bass driver has a single rear port and goes down to about 40Hz/."https://theaudiobeatnik.com/devore-fidelity-orangutan-o-baby-speakers-review/

Could be a all Dayton project by just using RST28ANote: tweeter is NLA, substitute ?
Fs goes down 700 Hz
Slightly higher than the 630 Hz it substitutes.
Crossover would still be same or possible shown in design.
8" woofer of course could make things easier and tighter
center to center was not done as tight as possible with design shown.
Aside from typical audiophile nitpicking.
In real life im sure they sound rather fine.
Drivers usually speak for themselves
The Daytons have truncated plate option so center to center
to the larger 10" could be very tight.

No crossover is used. Audition with woofer in RAW state.
Mid-Bass (80Hz-125Hz) – Dynamic. Detail. Tight. No Bloom.
Low Bass (40Hz) – Audible. No Bloom.
Vocals (125Hz upwards) – Sounds Flat. No audible peaks.
Bass and Vocals Balance – Good. Bass doesn’t over-power voices.
Conclusion
Despite the widely different Thiele & Small Parameters, the MCM 55-2960 sounds perfectly fine.
Suitable for PA and even HiFi. Fantastic value for $15.21.

see about 1.4 cf. Have you modeled this in WinISD ( www.linearteam.org ) or another box sim? I think that woofer really needs a 3"d vent. Making the box a little bigger lets you make the vent shorter to achieve the same tuning. I'd like to see the box at 1.7 cf (MINE are actually 2.1 cf), but 1.5 is the min. that I'd recommend. Usually you want the tweeters at seated ear level, which is typically 30" to 36". With a 30" tall box, you're looking at about 27".
In a 1.7 cf box, the 3"d vent should be 11" long. You can't really get closer than 2" to the rear wall with the end of the vent, 3" is more typically considered the min. If you absolutely can't go any deeper, then you'll have to use an elbow on the vent, which takes up internal volume making your box effectively even smaller, forcing you to make the vent a tad longer to get the same tuning, taking up a bit more space, forcing you to make the vent a tad longer to get the same tuning, taking up a bit more space, forcing you to make the vent a tad longer to get the same tuning, taking up a bit more space, forcing you to make the vent a tad longer to get the same tuning, taking up a bit more space . . .
