Gone on the right. An issue on the left. It’s not the driver, it’s the distance from each closed end to exit in the design and the ’q’ of the ‘bigger/shorter’ side that is further ‘wrong’ .
but that’s not necessarily 100% fair to say in some ways …. I’d inquire -outside- of that Facebook group (with real people) and real experiences somehow . Otherwise it’s not really Fair to say and i dont wanna be wrong or misrepresent it.
it is impressive AF at first. But it’s also got some issues. You CANT get an honest opinion From people @ social media on anything (or risk being attacked by the mob/cult/craziness mentality 😝) and those are the ones ‘discussing things in the majority of the speaker groups dont actually build much .they just ‘talk about things and parrot bad info without sawdust and any experience e listening 🥲🥲

That enclosure is too big for me. This enclosure is in my car. I originally designed it for a 2000 Toyota Solara. It's now in a 2011 Ford Crown Vic. The wife is amazed how "tight" the bass is in the CV compared to the Solara. The Solara sounded better overall since it had aftermarket mids and highs. The CV still has the factory speakers with aftermarket amplification.
It does! Remember, a FLH is just a BP4 with a flared port. I'm waiting on the 30 year old driver to blow so I can build a vehicle specific enclosure for either 2 x 12's or 1 x 15 in a BP enclosure. I might try a BP6. I've never had a BP6 in my vehicles. Now what's funny is, I've only blown subs in sealed enclosures. Voice coils need cool outside air to stay alive. I always design my BP4's with the basket in the vented chamber.
Yeah you predicted it^^ no hiccups , group delay or phase issues here. i bet it sounds 💚💪🏻
i punched in the 12TBX100 that goes to XMAX at only 600W in this design
besides that the graph look very similar, as you said is not the driver
🙁
can it be fixed ?
that thing is cause the maze of "resonators" that are not of the right size ?
ir it just need damping ?
how much is 5 in segment 2 ?? of stuffing ... 5% ??
it tame that horrible spike a lot but is looks better ,
if i keep adding more stuff in segment 2 the low end suffer

It never goes away . Stuffing cannot fix real world geometry dissimilarities in CSA and </> 3:1 issues in qw resonators converging to exit 🥲 especially when a boundary condition further spreads those dissimilar ‘Q’ resonators.

GM has been right about this stuff for years …. Make one that’s ‘right’ and fits the 3:1

ok, so the fix is....
(forget about DIY and get some danley's )
🤣🤣🤣
yeah if i had the dough i forget about DIY and try to learn,
get my dream system from Lacoustics, nexo, danley
or the meyer panther series

Not gonna happen.. and I’m not ‘selling’ an idea or claiming to know the ultimate answer.. I’m just a fool in his garage😝😝 Get a social media tool tohelp here…or stayout of the ‘light’ 😝

Would you want an expanding path and HF leakage though:.. it sounds like 💩 if not ‘damped’ it seems? Big dilemma for all of us trying to find ‘the holy grail’ 😃It does! I’m suffering the sealed sub issues too now 🥲 , compare/contrast Building EVERYthing to take a looksee and reality is tricky! Sealed runs out of steam quick and isn’t ‘the answer’
Tell me if I am not mistaken, Danley have the record of SPL per volume right? The TH series?
But the keystone and TH18 are close by a couple of dB's?
So TH's are king?

Build instead of BS…. These discussions without sawdust are always a 💩nobody can answer all these questions for people who refuse to actually build something and engage in this beforehand so there’s a real world experience, instead of endless questions that simply do not have real answers.
the truth is in your garage, there are plenty examples of things to try out to see instead of asking the same questions over and over again. Immerse yourself in reality. You are nickel and diming things to a point that no one can help and it’s time to build something so that you have a background to which you can explore things with knowledge of your own.??
pick one of these things and build it, and then you have a whole bunch of experience and ways to share information with other people to compare and contrast and further your understanding, as well as others
we have to build things, and then we have to talk about them together, and sort them all out together to understand them together. Jump in to the ‘circle’ or no one can help you, and you’ll just find endless amounts of information that you cannot confirm or deny or trust. Repeat .
you must have a foundation to which you can use to judge/compar/etc. I think this is more importanthan anything ?? Otherwise were stuck and can’t figure out anything .. w

This guy is making valid points but he’s also ignoring the ’fixes’ they present to promote his white paper.. there’s no way to figure anything out here except to do it yourself because these people just argue with each other endlessly

Problem ‘solved’? I dunno.. I got no dog in this endless nonsense/fight..
I don’t care?? . Everyone’s trying to make a dollar off of somebody else in those FB groups now and argue things endlessly and nobody’s having any fun anymore. How the heck are we supposed to learn from that junk🥲
does this fix the problem…?

SPL per volume isn’t a flat or smooth responce either . and how do you cross over cleanly through that area of crazy above the pass band? It’s fuct.Tell me if I am not mistaken, Danley have the record of SPL per volume right? The TH series?

It’s even crazier when using big motorforce . And trying to squeeze even harder on those things creates all kinds of time domain issues (???) and things that are in Scott Hinsons white paper. It’s important to read it …. But also to experience what he’s taking about with one’s own ears and decide if it really is an issue or just another smart guy with ocd confusing the fun 😝😝
Papa don't preach I'm in trouble deep
Papa don't preach, I've been losing sleep
But I made up my mind, I'm keeping my craaaaappy driveeeeeers ...hmmmm
me loving my craaaaaaappy driveeeeeeers ... hmmmmm
😜😜
ok back in the days there was not big motor drivers, and amps were not so powerfull so
they just use dozens of boxes and amps to make good SPL
ahhh and a big *** power plant to light a small town
today big motor drivers are Efiin expensive
so the average DIY'er are stuck with weak motors drivers that we can afford
lumber have skyrocketed and back in the days it was almost freeee
ohhh my.....
this existence is futile
