Alpair 10.3 in a Pensil
Just finished a Pensil build with mahogany ply for the 10.3's that I had sitting around as backup drivers for my car stereo. The car got sold (complete with 10.1's and an SDX10), and now these should get put to use. Break-in period is underway.

Pretty, but no rebate for the driver and the raised edge could also cause issues. I look at it and say… fill i twith felt. Cork would be prettier.

That's a fair point Dave, I know the diffraction points I've added aren't ideal, but precision of construction with narrow tolerances coupled with the need for visual aesthetics necessitated the design compromise.
100 percent what you are saying. its all about compromises and preferences. very nice looking speakers. the overhangs balances well with the non flush mounted drivers.
Not sure I like calling our speakers . FULL range, as most folks have this idea of 20hz.. which I am not at all interested in.
Cellos go down to 60hz.
I think we should stay with the term
WIDE BANDS
which is truly what these speakers are... I just added a DavidLouis 4 to the mix.
Had a pair sitting on my shelf 6 months now, about to give them to overseas relatives,,the thought occured,,the 6 DavidLouis did not work in pairing with the DavidLouis VX8,, the mids in the 6 not up to the VX8's fidelity,,,but what about the 4,,,I had no issues with the 4,,,so hooked the pair up and
SUCCESS
Diana Krall's voice never sounded so beautiful.
Rich, detailed, soundstage with new presecnce.
Here music starts at 6:35
Production is halted due to the EU supplier of the paper mix cone.
IMHO the best 4 incher on the market
davidLouis 4 inch wide band,, Perfect - YouTube

Well...now that depends. Given my hearing at 60, I'd say MANY of them are full range (for me)... 😀😎

Dear mozartfan,
I say and write both wide-bands and full-range.
I listen to Diana Krall, I can enjoy listening at 150Hz to 8kHz.

Most multiways don’t reach 20 hz, and many tweeters don’t go any hogher than the best FRs, so what is your point motartfan? It is all about the compromises you can personally make
Typically we call them FRs (just like we often see multi-ways poste din the FR forum because the posted considers them FR). We do call them Wideranges when we talk about WAWs (a term we can thank the late scottjoplin for).

My first TABAQ Box, after two pairs of regular TABAQ. Also my first time painting MDF; I wanted a light colour to make the size less imposing on my desk.
Drivers are 4FE35 (ferrite) as the 4FE32 (neo) are out of stock. They are cheap enough I can easily buy the neo later if I want to compare. At first I thought they were very ugly, but now that I see them against the contrast of the light colour paint I don't hate them so much!
The wooden stands/wedges were made for my previous speakers, but the TABAQ Box sit nice & stable on them even though they overhang.
The sub underneath the desk is not in use.

Still have to work out the stands, but ruffly 7 kg each, with fronts in red and green dyed concrete - to keep track of port and starboard (or left and right channel).
Drivers are Dayton Audio PS98-8.
Lesson learned: never to be to quick to get the casting out of the mould ...
