I was one of the first to reply and buy to this offer. Like everything else from overseas, I gave it enough time to ship and it came earlier than I expected. A very good deal and I would definitely buy from him again.

Although I would like to know why he was shut down.

EDIT - OK I see why. Patent infringement is a big deal and should not be tolerated.

It might serve us better to better understand true patent infringement.

Krell Clone KSA-50, Aleph 60, Aikido, Audionote M7, ESP P-101, Zen V5, Lightspeed, Quicksilver 8417, etc. If I choose to post a sale of a few of these components on the trading post, would I also be in violation?

Understand that I am not trying to stir up a debate, I am just ignorant of the issue, as I am an engineer, not a lawyer.

mixing up topics / subject

The discussion on this forum is about the B&O boards. That packages gets lost we know, but this the problem of the post/mail company. Or?

If you want to be sure, why not sending it by registered mail like FEDEX or DHL? Using one of these you are sure you will get your item.

If I read the forum now, it's not the post/mail company whcih is the problem, but the seller YFW in person who does not ship and so he is unreliable. Again I am very happy with his service !!!!!!!!!

Now the discussion starts that the seller vilolates the copyrights! I am sorry but what this has to do with the B&O boards? Or selling these boards. NOTHING!
If he violates the copyright than it is upto the company which copyright is violated and it is for sure not our business! How do we know that he violates something? And this is posted by a moderator! This can't be true, why not telling people directly that he is a ...... criminal?

I am aware that people copy and sell stuff like on Ebay as a 'modified' Matisse or as an updated Naim amplifier or what-ever. What is so unique about this? There are so many out there who are selling these products/kits, if the original manufacturer makes a problem out of it, they should take action themselves.

If I take a look at the AudioTek shop by YFW everything seems okay to me, no copyrights violating kits or so. And than, Nelson Pass is a big boy and can take care of him self.

And what about this forum? It is full of violating copyright rules, so many circuits can be downloaded here or are explained how they work into small details. That is allowed because it is for DIY and non-profit use? Yes? Nonsense.

For example thread http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1603778#post1603778 http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1603778#post1603778 This person sells the Nelson Pass amplifier boards, why is no action taken? This is no copyright violating merchandise?

I don't want to be offending, but this forum is so inconsequent, this is why I reply to something that does not even has my interest, but it irritates that’s for sure. Also because at first I did not understand the message of Tekko, but now I am sure that you moderators closed down the account of YFW. Shame on you, you moderators.

Maybe once more, the B&O packages get lost by the mail and not by YFW. People should be wise and should think about FEDEX or DHL shipping.

this is no copyright violating merchandise?

SY,

Don’t worry, this will be my last mail on this forum.

> this is no copyright violating merchandise?
> No, it isn't. It's neither a Pass design nor a copy of one.

Sorry my mistake, but than it is even worse. You mean it is not a Nelson Pass design? Why do I get the impression it is? Yes, because the person who sells these baords uses the name of Nelson Pass on his page. Let people, like me, believe it is a design by Nelson Pass. I have 2 boards (never used though) and stupid me thinking I will build my own Nelson Pass amp, I was wrong.
SY, thank you for letting me know of this misleading use of Nelson Pass his name, it is a fraud these boards and designs.

Down here a copy of the page [http://www.kk-pcb.com/amps.html] what supposed to be none copyright violating merchandise.

ALEPH AMPLIFIERS, PASS LABS CLONE .
ALEPH 1.2 - Two-Stage Class A Mosfet Amplifier of Nelson Pass
ALEPH 2 - Two-Stage Class A Mosfet Amplifier of Nelson Pass
ALEPH 3 - Two-Stage Class A Mosfet Amplifier of Nelson Pass
ALEPH 4 - Two-Stage Class A Mosfet Amplifier of Nelson Pass
ALEPH 5 - Two-Stage Class A Mosfet Amplifier of Nelson Pass
ALEPH-M - Two-Stage Class A Single-Ended Mosfet Amplifier
ALEPH-X - Two-Stage Class A Balanced Mosfet Amplifier

Reading this thread reminded me of a note in the local (danish) weekly engineering newspaper.

It quoted someone for saying that probably due to cultural aspects (I'm guessing here: to be politically correct??), many asians percieve the word "copyright" as the right to copy. 😀

i feel compelled to post here my experiences with this ebay seller.

over the last couple of months i have paid for 4 modules (2x 1000asps and 2x 200ascs) and he has been messing me around ever since.

he tried to claim that they were all 'lost', even though they were all ordered individually and were to be sent individually. i know that taiwan post doesn't exactly have a halo hanging 'round but losing -that- many uninsured parcels is just unbelievable. i offered to pay the extra for ems shipping which offers tracking and he STILL hasn't sent the goods. his communication is very poor and he hs done nothing but feed me lie after lie.

its pretty easily seen why b&o didn't want these modules out and about in the hands of idiots - people like yfw are the reason.

his poor customer service and the fact that he has a blatant disregard for IP should make you reconsider buying from him.

this guy has provided me my worst ebay experiences yet! stay away! if you are determined to have ice in your life, marchand electronics would be a way better option. they only have the 1kw modules but that way you might actually receive the goods. they're cheaper too!

cheers

Similar experience here, but he does seem to ship.

Ordered two pairs the beginning of August which showed up 2 weeks later.

Ordered another pair 8/19. Three weeks passed and no modules, so I contacted YF. Was told to wait another week. Did and emailed again, was told that they were "lost" and was sending another pair.

At this point I said I wanted tracking and would pay extra for it, and was quoted a $45 price for tracking. Was then told that tracking wasn't available and they would ship the normal way.

Fast forward another month...still no package. Contacted again and was told the 2nd package must be lost and he would ship a 3rd. I went along as I was past the paypal dispute window, and because I was told there would be tracking this time. That was 10/18...as of 10/24 no tracking info.

Check the ebay profile for Audiotek, a slew of bad feedback, mostly resulting from items never being received. As of yesterday his ads for the 200asc and 1000asp are both gone, no more BIN or auctions.

Very strange seller, jacked the price up for the 200asc pairs from $139/pr to $499/pr. Weird thing was there were 10 available at $300/pr and 2 sold...but they never sold once the price went over $300/pr. Guy didn't seem to realize that 0 sold at $400/pr, yet bumped the price up again to $500/pr.

Same here, ordered 1 Pair of Brand New Nightingale 3-inch Full-Range Speaker System KIT, my winning bid is US$49.00 and I paid it on Sept 17. I emailed him around 7 times. First email he said he will refund me if I don't receive the package in two weeks.
Second email he said he will ship it again.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Anyone can tell me how to get him to refund me?

Hi djhatton, gaara, fastvideo whats happening with your purchases.I bought 2 b&o 1000asp from the ebay store but still haven't got them.Regards Leon.

I eventually got mine ~ 3 months after purchase. He shipped them a 3rd time direct from the mfg. and they arrived in about 2 weeks time.

I am still waiting on another pair that I recently purchased, and was told they would ship direct from the mfg.

If they don't show in ~ 1 month ask if they can be shipped direct from B&O. Worst case scenario you could do a paypal dispute, or if it past the statue of limitations you could always do a charge back on your CC.

Three months!! Problems with the horse?

So are we to believe that while B&O doesn't sell to, or support the small time hobbyist, they will ship directly to them to fulfill a third party order that disagrees with their policy? That is interesting.

I guess if he actually shipped them that many times, the increase in price is justified.

ICEPower 200ASC Modules

In case YFW runs out of modules, I have some available in the US for $200/pr if anyone is interested. Full evaluation kits with all wires also available. We can make harnesses with the ends if you have the boards. Please e-mail for a quote. (Depends upon how many you need)

Connectors

If anyone buys amps without connectors, you have several choices. 1, Solder wire right to the pins; 2. Have a harness made for you and 3. Get the JST connectors and pins in bulk from Digikey along with the correct wire and custom crimping tool and make your own.

If you choose option 2, I can help you. We already did step 3 and have product and a great tech who has become quite good at making the things up. It takes about 1 hr to do the pair so we are asking a flat rate $75 which includes the parts. We are doing this as a service to the DIYers and to keep out tech busy. So if you are interested, please e mail to delphinj@aol.com. We take paypal . Cost is cost plus paypal plus shipping.

These connectors are really hard to get and then you have to buy big quantities.

This is a good deal.
