Thank you......Santa and Peter
Always nice to know of a Black Gate alternative for nice sounding electrolytic that doesn't cost that much.

Sorry Andrzej for the confusion - it's nothing like that.
"Xfeed helps to sort out Cap differences"
Is there a place for H.P. discussion on DIY Audio?
Hello JH,
Would be great if Xfeed help to sort out C1/C2 Cap differences.
I tried to find something for you regarding H.P discussion, and nothing special. Maybe try this:
diyAudio Forums > Top >Amplifiers >Solid State >:: sq quadraphonic ::
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5527&highlight=
or
diyAudio Forums > Top >Amplifiers >Pass Labs >ZEN-like headphones amp
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2451&highlight=
but there is nothing about X-feed here, I am sorry.
Best regards.
a.
Thanks Andrzej,
Yeah - diy Audio is not big on headphones which is a pity but, the headwize is fairly extensive plus are a few others, so a fair bit of information is around - just not here!
It's great to see NP is using the Silmics rather than the Pana FCs in the F4 amp. I assume your C1,2 (and C3,4) are beginning to settle down a bit by now and the power supply is now giving solid base response - hope the earthing problems are now behind you and can look forward to many years of very good music.
Perhaps I could interest you in a PCM63 dac project with a Linux computer source, yes?

Very good work. What heatsinks have you used? They look like Fischer.
Ciao,
Boris
Thanks Boris 🙂
I actualy don't have a clue, bought the sinks second hand from Tarasque so i guess you have to ask him 🙂 They do their job very well!
cheers,

Looking to build a preamp that can drive a single channel to it's full output (solid state circuits).
anyone can help?
anyone can help?
The Pumpkin preamp will drive F4 nicely. I haven't built one, as it looks a bit too challenging for me, but boards and matched parts are available from Zen Mod. I use the Aikido tube pre - very easy to build, relatively inexpensive, dead quiet, and sounds terrific. Tom
built a 10X preamp using opa2604 with +/-24V supply.
it is able to drive f4 to full output.
the sound is very good.
with this setup, i think f4 is the best ref output amp to tell which opamp sounds better.

I have these sinks from scrapped medical equipment. They work like a dream...That's all I know!
so, is the 11/08/06 version of the schematic still the most recent:

I remember something about a LED resistor change and a few more changes here and there...

That is the most current schematic I know of...
The changes I know of are as follows:
P2 = 500 not 5k
and there are a few others....perhaps someone else can add them.
An addendum at the end of the owner manual or a new schematic would be awesome.
Peace,
C
