It lives! It was longer than planned because l got Covid on the plane back from France. Then I caught the flu! I will break it in on the bench.

I am building TU-8550 pre-amp. I installed D306(RBA406) wrong. Turned power on( did not turn on). I installed D306 correctly. Turned power on. Led 301 and Led 302 turned on. I think I heard a click, then U301(LM555P) smoked. I plan on replacing U301(I have part) and D306. I can not find RBA406 on line. Can you tell me any replacement part numbers or do you sell them.
Is there anything(parts) I should check Thank You Ronald

Has anyone upgraded the volume and/or balance controls on the TU-8550?​

I have the Sunvalley SV-Pre1616D and am wanting to upgrade both controls.
Considering a Goldpoint or Intact Audio attenuator for the volume control but haven’t been able to find many balance controls options online. Just these: https://partsconnexion.com/products/audio-note-100k-ohm-stereo-balance-potentiometer

My 8550 is dead quiet and the volume and balance pots are accurate and smooth. I'm not sure what you would gain from an upgrade. I think the only way I would swap these out is if the originals started to fail.
