If you use the smaller jacks that mount in a 1/4" hole, you can use a hand punch like at Home Depot.

The larger RCA jacks that use a 3/8"hole require a bench punch, but you might know someone who has one.
Drilling thin sheet stock is difficult at best. If you use metal sheet stock, then you need shoulder washer insulators,
which require an even larger mounting hole.

That looks very useful. I would have first tried my drill press, but I think you're right that drilling thin material would be troublesome.
