hi. the pics are pretty impressive. can you provide me with more details please. Do you do a demo? goodluck!
Anybody have any luck with the multiple coax cables combined for ultimate video cable that was mentioned earlier in the thread? Did it work? Is it better? Worst? Got pictures of the cable? Thanks

Did you mean vga cable or s-video cable?
As for s-video, i had tried replacing the cable
2- RG-6 cable ( short run only ) and the result is also good but not dramatic..
I am still looking for dual coaxial RG-6 cable made by Belden. This looks neat than using 2-rg6 cable
I will also try this using a long run of cable of about 4 meters later.

Heya hertz, have you thought in covering the 2 rg6 cables together with heatshrink? Im sure beldon dont make a duel rg6 cable as its mainly used for rf equiptment and dual lines in that area arent often needed.

Hi Ace!
I found the cable in the net about a month ago and is used by diyers to replace s-video cable. They recommend this setup for projectors.
As far as i can remember, the s-video socket can accomodate the dual-coaxial RG-6 cable. Shrinkcable is a good idea for professional looking diy cable.
The s-video socket that i bought cannot accomodate the 2-RG cable, so i have to do this

Wow man your using the large stuff, try to find yourself the micro coaxal cable, i have some here, its either 50 or 75ohm's and about 3mm round, i think its rg98-u or somthing like that, ill have to look that number up for ya. It's not that easy to find, i found a supplier over here that sells it fairly cheap so i grabed a pile of it, its typically used in tv's, ham radio's, and stereo's for bridging rf boards together.
Its single strand, but heatshrinking 2 of those together, you will have a cable half the size of what you've got. If you wrap the outside of the 2 cables with alloy foil before you heatshrink, then you will have an even more sheilded cable, but bear in mind the properties of the cable's resistive loading could change, atleast in rf it would.

Yup! its big!
I followed the recommendation of some to use #18 gauge coaxial cable for beter result for composite cable so i use my excess cable to build test s-video cable.
BTW, What is the diameter of that micro coaxial cable?

Hi Guys !
I´m using micro coaxial cable Siemmens 2YCCY in 75ohms in 4 runs : 3 to bring the component signal (DVD out) and 1 to carry composite signal (Receiver Out) to the VGA box on the proyector, and it works pretty well.
I found it on a local store that sell LAN cables. I was looking for a STP shielded CAT 5 but him was out of stock, so I´d picked up the single 2YCCY cable and make the 4 runs until I can get CAT 5 STP to carry just a VGA signal.
Meanwhile it is performing pretty well but the cost is higher because you need 2 or 3 times more cable in lenght. (1 run for composite video, 2 runs for S-Video and 3 runs for component video)
Here are some specs (sorry they are in Spanish)
I think the Siemmens version I have got the same specs.
Hope it helps.

Bfourcade,
Nice find! Thanks for the pics. Now I know what to look for. Thanks for the help.
Made new adjustment to my pj. will post pics later.

Finally got the best of split fresnel set-up!
Keystone correction perfected with screen angled and also top fresnel.

Herth, I have been following your project por the past 2 days since I join and there is one word to describe it and that is:
AWSOME
Wel done!
I am thinking of doing a projector like yours, but i'm finding a little bit hard to find part need it, even though here in OZ it shouldn't be the case, but what i find most intriguin is the LCD controler and how to connect the projector to a dvd player.
If you have made a follow up list, can you please let me know?

wylie-c,
Thanks. you know i am just doing what you and others probably had done to improve our pj, but i guess a lot of guys will agree wth me ( I know the Koreans will!), the big difference is the LCD. Probably because its a newer generation LCD, its probably highly transmissive.
I just don't know how my LCD compares with the Liliput.
I am waiting for a very nice pictures to be posted because i am also interested to build one using this widescreen liliput.
Based from what I saw, the liliput seems to have a wrong color tint. Its slightly greensh. i hope its just a camera problem
But i am not without problems. One is, i think i have to wait 1-1.5 hours to get full brightness from my light engine. I know i am using a cheaper ballast, capacitor ignitor set-up, I am now looking a cheap solution to this problem.

Look at the liliiput pics in this post http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1386
And Hertz can you please post a new illustration with the new mesurements on your website of your new setup? Thanks.

crative-one,
Thanks for the nice words.
BTW why it is so intriguing for you about the lcd controller board and its connection to dvd player?
And what do you mean by a follow-up list?

hi hertz,
looking better and better. nice to you see you using dual
condensers. they realy brighten things up stacked. but then
the focal shortens and they need to be right up to the bulb.
have you had any problems with heat?
great work, with the small lcd. keep those pics flowing.
all the best, tony
