HI! Kababayan! Just joined in and is much impressed on the accomplishment of the members regarding DIY projects. Anyway, I am looking into the possibility of replacing the projector lamps/bulbs of my DLP Plus Piano projector. What do I need to know and the availability of an alternative or replacement bulb in our country? The oem cartridge assembly is quite expensisive and Plus corporation have phased out this model. Thanks for any info the members could share.
Hi guys! Is it possible to replace only the lamp instead of the commercial cartride assembly on a front projection unit? I own a plus piano dlp and its been giving me a great home theater experience. The downside is that it has only 1000 hrs lamp life. I already replaced it twice but budgets getting tight! Are there available "lamp only" replacement.
I'm trying to figure this out but are all of the movies you shown images of in 4:3? I'm looking at the screenshots and the sizes all seem to indicate a 4:3 size.
Some of the images actually looked squished so I can only assume that the lcd panel cannot stretch anamorphic 16:9 images and that the dvd player is set to output 16:9 and not 4:3.

need help for my very first projector

I just started getting into the DIY projector thing -- didn't know that I'm already a few years behind! hehehe!
I'm kinda running into a dead-end trying to get the necessary parts for my own projector project. Right now, the only thing I have is an LCD, and a metal halide lamp which I bought from the Handyman shop just a week ago.
Can you tell me where I can get those fresnel lens and also the condenser? I also read in some other site that we need to use some sort of glass filter to block out the heat from the LCD?
Any help would be much appreciated! =)

Oh its very nice. Though it will not accept 480p, the image was very good.
It booster the contrast, birghtness and resolution.
I think it beats my pc now in terms of brightness and contrast.
