Hey hertz,
I'm planning to build a 7 incher using N070ICG. How about a 100W LED floodlight as the light source?
Free Shipping 100w 85 265V led floodlight IP65 9000LM silver housing CE&ROHS with two years warranty-in LED Lighting from Lights & Lighting on Aliexpress.com
Will I need a ballast to power this thing? And do you think I need a fan for the light as well? Since this is my first build, I'd like to keep it simple.
Thanks!

Hello Hertz,
Your work is very fantastic. i am not able to follow this thread properly due to office work.
Now rains have started here and i can manage some time, I request If you could brief me about building diy Projector, Where to buy parts from and how to assemble it.
Do you remove anti glare layer of all lcds you use.
I can get 100 watt led ,Front surfaced mirror Locally. rest I depend on you.

I dont remove anti-glare or anti-reflection coating anymore.
For long term use, its not good for your lcd.

Reworked the box of 480p LCD w/ HDMi and Vga and installed 126w led. This by far the brightest projector I ever built. The LCD+controller is more transmissive than B101Ew05. Its water cooled. Hdmi+vga conections. The image is very bright at 120 inches diagonal!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Nothing change. Its the same old design.
Which Lcd this time.
The power supply is 24v but can be adjusted through its trimpot up to 30v. This a constant voltage source. The one installed in a heatsink on its right is the LM338k to make it a constant current source.
You can buy DC to DC Buck converter on ebay if you want to increase the voltage to 36v.
32-36v is for commercial led. I use custom designed led in which the voltage is 24v for 126w led and 28v for 128w led.

Men in Black 3 dvd- B101EW05 LCD + 126w LED + Aspheric lens.
The actual image is more saturated and contrast is much better. Black is blacker and white is whiter in actual.
I settled for DVDs instead of Bluray! Its already awesome on 10.1 inch 1280x800 lcd.
Bluray is fanastic but DVDs are alot cheaper . Sometimes I am having a second thought of trying 1080p LCD . This 1500 contrast is really very nice. If I opted for 1080p lcd, I will have to sacrifice the contrast though resolution is expectedly better.
Brightness is awesome! enjoyed this movie so much!
The hair in the images has bluish tint, but its solid black in actual.

Excellent results, very nice looking build! Are you going to paint the enclosure or stain it or leave it as is?
Box will stay that way.
Starting a new build.
10.1 inch 1920x1200 projector. This time its acrylic and will be laser cut. Levelling up!
