Sweet 🙂
but hey, we understand, if it weren't for the XA-160's and
Rushmores there wouldn't be any fun stuff!

My 'long term' plans are to actively biamp a line array with dual Aleph 5s and a Marchand crossover. Give the choice though, I would prefer to make it an 'all PASS affair'!!!!!

I'd love to see a pass DAC project, done with a PCB, using either the 1704 or newer chip, integrated with the Remote Volume Control project... that would be sweet 🙂
I believe that the fact that today is April 15 may explain the free time.
For those that haven’t seen it, there is a picture of the Rushmore on WWW.e-speakers.com . Way down in the bottom right corner.
I would vote or a cluster article or series that address CCS’s for the Balanced Line Preamp, an X ed balanced pair of Zen V4’s, and a balanced output stage for the Pearl.
I personally have enjoyed the Zen 1thru4 series and the papers on op. amps. and crossovers.
I will be happy with what ever comes.
Thanks;
Tmac

I hope I wasn't taken the wrong way. I have been following pass labs stuff since around '95. I continually read what Nelson Pass writes for us, and seem to learn something new each time I read it (no matter how many times I've read it previously). I am very grateful for him sharing his knowledge with us. It is rare that the designer of innovative designs is willing to share his ideas with anyone.
I am merely expressing what I would like to see come out, as it is a key piece to the chain of sound. I have read the documentation on the D1 a couple of times, which in its simplicity in the output stage (being very typical of Pass designs) looks awesome. I would love to try it, only I am daunted by the lack of availability of the PCM63 chip. With all the great reviews of the 1704 (possibly outdone by its successor), I was hoping a design along those routes could be done. I am by no means as knowledgable as many seem to be here, which is why I tossed out the idea.
I just downloaded today AutoTrax EDA, a free circuit design tool. I haven't played with a program like this (PSPICE previously) in about 7 years. I was hoping to see where I could get on the design myself, but who knows. Just making a rough power supply in the program seems to be a challenge. Part of DIY I suppose though 🙂 If there are alternatives to Autotrax, could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks 🙂
Okay! Okay! I admit it! I'm hooked. I've got passdiy withdrawal!
I've tried the patch.
I've tried the gum.
Heaven help me, I've even been hanging out in the Chip Amp forum! My wife doesn't even know.
Please, Cyclotronguy. No one will tell.
Leak a schematic.
A coded hint.
One of those pictures you have to stare at to see.
A haiku.
Anything!
Thanks. I feel better now. I'm going to Starbuck's for a double-shot.

Well, we can't have you perusing chip amps as a replacement for real DIY can we? 😉
Don't worry, there's stuff on the way Real Soon Now .

I thought Cyclotron Guy was going to make something that could shrink quarters. Let's see something that will blow out the windows. A couple of thousand watts.

Yup, looks like we will all have to switch over to gainclones.
Maybe some chip active crossovers.............Maybe head over to the Linkwitz page, that's the ticket!
Kinda sad, really, those Pass guys used to be the only place I'd go for DIY audio porn. Now it looks like they're fresh out of ideas
😉 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉
(pretty obvious reverse psychology- it's worth a try!)
