then open it up instead of mass load it?wow nice build Bp1,
im after PA subs not HT
what you mean ?then open it up instead of mass load it?
and expand toward exit instead of constant or bottle neck... what designs are those ? drivers ?

Check out jbell's SS15. Check out the THAM15.
thank you!^ Neither of those appear to have had the rigorous development and evaluation that other DIY TH have seen, and simmed output doesn't appear to meet the expectations first discussed in this thread... a couple of red herrings there.
what plans do you think are worth to dig in.
does anyone have or can get the plans for Jbell SS18? i have read the thread on sawstudio forum but last post was on 2013,
that plan seem to fit very good what i am looking for.
looks like the plans were shared by request only.
does Jbell still hang around here?
cause idk if the recommend drivers originally are still produced, a dayton and an eminence for 3db more output.
people who builded it loved it
one single 4x8 sheet and budget 18 driver
sanway have budget plate amps with dsp
so that SS18 with a plate amp will be the KS118 killer, (2000 usd current price)

For sure the Jbell SS18 is not a single sheet.
Better if you check the SS style project from Xoc1, it more consolidate and you can ready more feedbacks.

There is the discussion also about the "cone correction" and there is a more modern plan that integrate that aspect into the project, you will find it in the website I shared with the name THSS2, it improves the upper frequencies in the pas band.

check page 4 ...post 35
Hey Kipman,How low are you looking to go? there is a size/output/lf corner trade off.
freq is my second goal, i mean my 1st is the materials i prefer one sheet of ply instead of 2 or 2 and a half to crank up a cab,
from all the info i really liked the SS18, one sheet of plywood and budget 18" driver up to 130db with 2 of those with a 1500 power amp , that click all my boxes !!
, by the comments on people who made it , it is very good for what is it.
it goes down to 38Hz, so i am ok with it.
Problem is that i cant registed on the SAWStudio site and cant contact the guys who posted on the thread
do you think it is possible to contact James Bell and see if he can share the SS18 plans that Yogi ( from SAWstudio forum ) had and shared over there ?
I could not contact anyone on the SAWstudio user group, the one who started that was Yogi in 2013, and there is no open registration now on the SAW forum, i think we need to contact James Bell and and kindly ask for the plan, hoping he still have the plans for it, i searched here but cant find it, i guess he hangout in other forums,
as a side note, i really like the Keystone and TH18 but the fact that you need 2 or 3 sheets and the high end drivers....discouraged me.
hoping to get those SS18 plans , 1 sheet , budget driver. go to 38hz and the size i like.
I'd suggest you to do your simulations first, check if the design and size matches well the driver you choose, them check if the panels really fits the single sheet plywood.
18" driver requires larger baffle size, and lower frequency requires longer horn length, both increases box size, so.... compared to SS15.... someone maybe made a trade off that you need to carefully check.
For instance, my personal project started from jbell SS15 but due to the driver I choose I end up with larger box.

Lord and Bp1,
i get what your guys say, but i do not have the knowledge to ReSim or tweak for other drivers existing plans,
it will be something i want to learn and explore in the future.
But for know if somebody can help me to find those SS18 plans it will be greatly appreciated.
