How do you pull a beta from the Daphile firmware updater? I tried updater today and nothing happened.

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I used daphile last time. Now I am back and can't figure out how to use Tidal. Before it was possible through mySB, but it's gone now. I have installed the latest daphile beta and don't see any tidal plugin there. So what is the solution?

I think you need to search for " TIDAL local (v1.5.3 - 4102)" in the 3rd party plugins. I don't use Daphile anymore (running Docker container instead), but it should be the same for Daphile. You need to run LMS 9.x so check your version of LMs in Daphile.

Hi Everyone ! I am using Daphile with JCAT USB XE EVO card, and I am experiencing Interruptions in music. I have tryied to increase the buffer but it seems that will not help. Can you post here your setting please ( some settings that works )
Another question is : Did someone compared SQ differences when using wifi vs LAN ? Bacause in my oppinion there is no difference ...

That (sorry to say scam) card is a standard PCI-e USB controller, with some added filters (which a good externally-powered DAC will have no use of anyway). It works just like any other XHCI USB controllers, e.g. like that internally implemented in the chipset of your motherboard.

What is the character of the interruptions?

IMO you will need to go through some logs to troubleshoot the issue. System, dmesg, player logs, whatever is available through the daphile UI (or directly via SSH/console).

Why should the way incoming network stream is delivered to the player make an audible difference, apart of drop outs if the connection is not stable and the input cache runs out (more likely for wifi)?

The USB card is very sensitive to the external power suply, that I can tell you for sure ( I mean the Sound Quality, SQ )
How and why, I don't know, however, the card is not useless in my oppinion.
There are some small interruptions in sound. It's strange that sometimes a restart of Daphile solves the issue.

Every reasonable DAC has its own power supply, therefore the power from the USB host (the filter of which is so dearly paid in that card) is not used at all.

If a DAC uses the USB power supply (unlikely except for the lowest-price DACs), then the option is a dirt-cheap USB Y split with external PSU option.

Another IMO the best option which also avoids ground loops (quite frequent with desktop PCs) is a USB isolator with separate power supply on the device side. While there are countless USB2 highspeed (480Mbps) isolators, most of them have noisy/weak DC/DC converters onboard. While these are easy to desolder, this board looks very nice https://www.ebay.com/itm/355964912542 - just feed clean 5V into the USB-C connector.

But it's your money.

Any issues in the logs?
