Unfortunately I have had no luck with the latest beta. It seems the Intel wifi card is only able to work with Secure boot, CSM is not supported and the network does not activate. This laptop also has no other network connection, so I'll have to look at other means of modernising the system.
would something like this help? you plug it into the hardwire ethernet port on your laptop/minipc etc, and it handles the wifi. so your laptop/minipc sees a hardwire ethernet connection, not wifi. works great for me in other applications. never tried it with daphile

No, there's no other port 🙂 There's a couple USBs, and I'd need a USB=>RJ45 converter.
Since I also need the USB connectors for storage and the DAC (not to mention the Daphile stick, because I plan to run it off the stick), I'm a bit stuck. I'll need a hub, and that slows things way down.

I cannot boot it... Not from cd, not from usb... I get BOOTMGR missing in both cases... I cant find any options releated to secure boot in my bios (Asus P5K mobo).... is daphile only for uefi? Or does it work with bios?
EDIT: hold a bit... I didnt format usb as FAT32... will try when I get home from work....

But is there any better youtube plugin? If at least releated videos would play after current is finished....
Also cd player plugin... is there any way to make it play mp3 cds? Or is there any other plugin?

The issue is the lack of a centre image when playing music with Daphile. It's really odd but when you play a sound moving left to right it disappears when it gets to the middle (eg. the tick drum on Ummagumma - see

Please could someone confirm if they are having the same issues on their Daphile install. You really need access to an alternative player to experience the difference. The difference betwwen the same track being played on Roon and Daphile using the same music hardware was astoundiung.

That was our first response. Checked the polarity and all is fine. Hence substituted a roon system using same cabling and music hardware. The centre was restored. So something adrift with Daphile.
Please check the virtual centre image on you Daphile system and confirm it is working. Try a mono source and place your head in an equilateral triangle with your speakers. You hear left and right but no centre. It's very odd.
I just received my minidsp flex eight and hooked up to my daphile pc, but it's not recognized by daphile. Any ideas how I could get it to work?

Analog output works, but SPDIF coaxial doesn't, I can hear slight hiss when I connect the cable (that hiss is not audible with analog) and speakers pop when I reboot the computer.
I can see red light in tascam port, but I don't have cable to test that.
Soundcard is onboard on Asus P5K motherboard and it uses AD1988B.
I had tryed to set AD1988B to hw:1,1 but it didn't work, even analog was not working.
SPDIF is checked in mixer, there is no releated settings in BIOS...
That board has input auto detection, but I'm not sure if this applies to digital or obly analog.
Any suggestions?
Other thing is cpu... I have core2quad 2.6ghz, what is the lowest frequency I can use without sacrificing performance? I would like to downclock it. Also ram, I have 2GB ddr2 right now, would playback sound better if I upgrade?

AD1988B hw 1,0 is analog, hw 1,1 is digital.... if i set to 1,0 i get sound from analog and silent hiss from digital, if i set to hw 1,1 i get slight hiss from analog but not on digital... if I move volume pot on my amp -brand new Yamaha A-S501 I get poping noise from speakers as long as ai'm moving the pot, but only while daphile is booted.
I dont know much about thse technical settings, but could it be your DAC? what version (prod or beta) of daphile are you using? some of those settings options don't look familiar to me.
Nevermind... I'm getting either cd player with usb or network player with usb from same series as my amplifier is ... I'm leaning towards network player as this is the future... I was using version 21.01... but I'm done with it, it doesn't even want to connect to network anymore after factory reset. I was planing to get nuc for it, but I will rather add another 200eur for player and call it done.
