I connected the new DIY DAC to my setup:
WIIM ULTRA USB → DDC → via COAX → Lampucera DAC
Unfortunately, I can no longer select the USB audio output in the WIIM app – it just doesn’t show up anymore, which means: ... no sound via USB anymore

On the DDC, what happens when you disconnect the power and connect it again while the USB cable is connected?
Did you try different USB cables?

Can you try to attach an Android Phone to the DDC?
I use USB Audio Player Pro in Bit Perfect mode which sounds really good.

I will have to wait until early next week: a fuse blew ... no music out of the Lampuera DAC, now I have time to fix the other Lampucera KIT with the standard tube section: all six Janzten Z-caps are in, all under the PCB with bigger standoffs.
I found a replacement fuse and reconnected the DDC via USB. Initially, I couldn't select the USB output in the WIIM app. However, after adjusting the resolution within the app, the USB output suddenly became available. Everything is working perfectly again.

about the schematic ... the schematic from 2008 is still valid ... I was in touch with Srba who told me that he changed the capacitors in the signal path from miflex Mundorf silver gold oil - I did the same. Also I went with a two tube design and used JAN Philips tubes and of course the oversized power supply: three R-core transformers and a switch to be able to select Coax or optical and a separate switch (in the back) to switch between tube and opamp. I also went with high quality parts like furutech IEC and furutech RCAs ... don't know if I hear the difference but as this is probably my DIY DAC... what the heck, I went all in. This is still 5x more cost efficient compared to a Denafrips Venus 15th edition and is supposed to sound comparable - at least to the YT Lampizator Lampucera DAC guy.
Dear diyers!
I like to ask hows goin this kit? Are you still use it?
I bought the dac and the tube section separately (i suffer from some noising from the tube buffer, Lawrence told me to change the r-core transformer, maybe that making the noise). And let me ask you, the -L -R and the GND have to connect to the tube board?

Hi gbartus,
I am currently using a different DAC, but I did build a Lampucera with tubes and it sounded excellent. I used the stock transformer in the beginning and there was a lot of noise too. Get better transformers. The tube board works with just +18V I think so no GND needed.

Thanks peterpaan89!
So good transformer is a must have.
Can you help me in that the signal from the dac to the tube board is the -L-R and gnd, or the +L+R and gnd?
And what modifications you made on the tube board? Are you rolled the tubes and changed the capacitors?

See this picture (click view attachment), the signal from the DAC board to the tube buffer goes from behind the board (there is a horizontal connector) to the tube board audio in. So I ended up swapping the big capacitors and the tubes, I used Jantzen Amber Z Caps and Bugle Boy tubes with great results. Also Changing the capacitors on the DAC board power supply made a difference. Just be sure to use same values or higher. See post number 12 in this thread, it's a bit of a mess but there you can see some of the upgrades I made. Sounded terrific!Dear fellow DIYers,
I have purchased the Lampucera with Lampizator DAC kit from Lawrence in Hongkong for 220 Euros incl. shipping. I switched out one of the included transformers for a 50VA toroidal and inserted a OPA2134PA opamp (Second toroidal is coming for the tube output stage). Already I find this DAC very engaging and wins hands down against my Sabaj A10d AKM version with Topping P50 LPS.
As I have zero experience with tubes (never used them before), can anyone recommend a good 6922 tube for it? I was looking at this one:
https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/tube...-compatible-6dj8-ecc88-e88cc-7308-p-6162.html
Also opamp recommendations are very welcome.
Additionally I saw someone changing the output capacitors on the tube output stage for Jantzen Superior Z and was thinking of doing the same.
My questions are: does someone have experience with this particular kit? Can you share some of your thoughts and ideas?
Thank you very much!
