I got the Wiim Ultra and hooking up a Chinese DDC called UAC1 gives a noticeable improvement over spdiff out.

I got no computer hooked up at the moment.
Streaming with the Wiim Ultra via USB out into DDC and from DDC Spdiff into Chinese R2R Dac. Then line out to Cary SLP 90 tube pre clone to Sennheiser HD540 Reference II or power amp to Quad L21.
Spdiff out from Ultra is not as refined as USB out into DDC.
This year's purchases have revolutionized my system.
Previously I had Windows Server 2016 fully running from RAM into modified Singxer F1 or into Dante modules putting out I2S into various AK 4490/93/95 and 97 Dac boards.
The Ultra USB to DDC and Chinese R2R Dac into Tube Pre beats my former system easily in all areas.

Hi Klaus, this is interesting: "Spdiff out from Ultra is not as refined as USB out into DDC" I will try to find a few more comments on your finding - I might consider this as well.

Nothing wrong with coax out but SMSL PO100pro sounds more spacious and upper registers are more real. When there is allot going on sound sources are better separatet. With the Chinese DDC it's even better.
Thank you. I actually had bought the SMSL based on this vid but couldn't get it to run with my previous streamer. right now, I don`t want to switch the Wiim pro plus again but I bought a Chinese DDC as well 🤓

As for power supply the cleaner the better.
I use 3 Lifepo4 batteries in series because I have many laying around.
The speciality of this DDC is it's Fifo buffer
combined with the NDK clocks.
I will feed the internal clocks with LT3045 as soon I get time.

yes I got this - but what did you do with the power supply of the Wiim Ultra as this is an internal non-linear power supply...
I kindly ask you to share a picture of your conversion with the LT3045. Looks daunting, what you are doing!

I upgraded the pcb with 2 Jantzen Z-Silver 3,3uF but not very nice - I will have to redo this welding job again. Soundwise: another noticeable step!!
Next step: 4x 0,22uF Z-Silver Jantzen caps.
Next step: upgrade the cheap RCA sockets to better ones.
