Okay been reading many informations but didnt find anything... So I have to ask again here...
Was feeding the Dac these days via toslink... There I had repeatedly glitches in the sound. Where does this come from ?
Do I have to update firmware? As far as I know I got the firmware that was onbard when it was shipped. Second question : What do I need then to do the upload?

DAC version 1 - problem on optical input

Do you have this problem only on optical input ?

Do you see some lock lost on display or you only ear click on loudspeakers ?

The optical receiver is a standard type and there are no components on the signal path from optical receiver to dac chip.
The firmware cannot be the cause of this problem.

Hi
I have seen similar issues and also unlocks with coaxial input.
The issue here was some of jumpers that connect the dac chip to the voltages supplies was having to much resistance. They should be 0ohm but i did measure a low voltagedrop over the jumpers. You can try to solder the jumper pins together if this is the case.

Can you explain better what you suggest and which are these 0ohm resistors ?

Hi

The Jumpers between the shunt Regulators and the ES9018.

I have seen bad connections in the these Jumpers.
You can unmount the jumpers and solder the 2 pins of the Headers instead of using the Jumpers.

Please see the dedicated Jumpers in the pic.
Please note: I have only seen this topic on the Version 1 DAC (The DAC with 16*2 Display).
