Hard to measure - how did you do it?

Hi ..

I have access to an Instrument that can measure Phase Noise level.
The Jitter level is calculated from the measurement.

Below measurement was made at the Clock input of the DAC chip. The Clock Frequency is 100MHz.

Please note: that all measurements are measured on Production boards. No Measurements was made on "selected" boards..

Where to find spec, schema and layout plan for the DAC module

I guess this is mainly a question for audiodesign:
I plan to include the DAC module (with Amanero) directly into my Primare Preamp Pre30 (almost as Primare offers for the successor PRE32). There is enough room for the board and maybe I could use the same transformer already built in… The 4-digit LCD I will place in a frame outside the chassis.

Questions:

  • What is the AC power supply spec (consumption) for both mentioned modules?

  • Does this setup have other constraints/disadvantages from your perspective?

  • Where can I find the schema and layout for the DAC module, so I could fix it myself when it brakes sometime?

Sorry I have to correct mysellf..
In the Tech spec "Vc" at 82fsec, is the specification from the Crystek CCHD-575.
The datasheet for the CCHD-575 states 82fsec at 12kHz to 80MHz. (for a 100MHz OSC)

The attached Phase noise measurement in post #663 is made at the Clock input of theES9018 and from 10Hz to 100kHz offset to the 100MHz OSC. At this frequency range the Jitter level is well below the Technical specification "Vc". Actually the Phase noise tester calculated this range to <10fsec.. (so the technical spec sheet Vc is still correct ;-) )

in this situation perhaps you would consider the shipment with the plastic control, and to send the metal one once it's available which I guess is hard to predict today. I don't know how about other recipients but as for me the further delay is something painfull...
