AD1865>>>
I've read all the discussion about the AD1865 over the past few weeks. Is the bottom line that they are available from DigiKey but you must purchase 13 AD1965N or 11 AD1865NJ? Or are there any legitimate places to purchase 2 or 4 of these chips? If there's interest, I could do another group buy for the AD1865 chip (I did one for the AD1862). If we need a group buy, what are the thoughts on through hole vs. SMD and N vs. N-J variants?
My apologies if this question has been answered - I tried to find the answer in this thread.

Rochester bought out the remaining stock (like the 1862) and Digikey is just brokering. So it's still coming from Rochester.
I'd strongly suspect any sources outside of Rochester are pulls or even possibly counterfeit.

That's what I suspected. Rochester specializes in near-end-of-life stock. I did a group purchase of AD1862 maybe 18 months ago and sold all of them quickly. I'm glad to make a GB for the 1865 chips if there's interest.
I can order in multiple of 6 , but with all the overheads ( import tax + shipping), it may be more economical for someone in US to do the GB. 11 or 13 is achievable, I think. Maybe MIro can start designing a dual chip board .. 😂
*Correction - I mean MOQ of 6

Do adapters degrade performance?

Not a clone i any way.@zoom777
The similarity is limited to the use of a multistage passive LC filter as the only filtering mechanism in a NOS dac. It is clearly not exactly a clone.
.
First one (with a tube on PCB) is Zanden circuit passive filter with N notch RLC nets for N x Fs points attenuation.
This is actually not an filter, just hard attenuation of 44.1, 88.2 and next taps...
it is a sort of Sin(x)/x analog emulation.
main goal is to have minimum phase shift in HF edge domain around 20KHz
You can read about it in Zanden patent pending pdf
.
Second is clasic LC filter for HF att. well explained, evaluated and measured in @abraxalito topics
Remember, the entire world is based on patches and adapters 😁They may but I would probably not hear it. 😂 But I am aware that for some fast op amps, one may experience oscillations when using adapters.
Guys, I have some trouble with JLsound XMOS - sometimes the sound changes to a hiss. I wonder what could it be? Maybe somebody's had an experience? I don't change the stock firmware of the Jlsound. Write to support?
On board? - it's OK. There is another thing - Dac board have three points for GND connections right? And I use only one (1). Maybe we should use all of them? This Dac has been playing for a few years.Check soldering for i2s/gnd connections. If i recall right, your soldering wasn't very good.
I have another Dac board - I want to use her with DF - FPGA. I'm gonna get help putting together.
Definitely don't use those connectors unless you're just testing/prototyping, they are bad, very bad, especially when used as single wire. Little fork in the female connector gets loose very quickly. Remove connectors and solder wires directly, or use full pin number connector there (3x2).
Also connect gnd pads, there was an issue with gnd not being connected on one pad. Doesn't explain why it worked but now doesn't, as the info i gave you above, but can't hurt.

Don't use them? It's a standart arduino connectors with cooper wire. Ok I got these - 1 метр UL2468 плоский кабель 26AWG, светодиодный экран 2,54 мм, красный и белый лента ПВХ кабель 4P 5P 6P 7P 8P 9P 10P 12P | AliExpress and dupont for them. Unfortunately I don't have crimper tool and use pliers.
