For my 127s... looked at Horns.......What I need is a Suzy Chang(tv is on an antique washstand) that has driver centered 12" shorter but can be 12 to 15" deep. (Could be a Cheesy Chang)

IIRC the Suzy variant for the FE127e is the Brynn.

Not on the Spawn site yet. Dave rendered it in Spawn thread a couple pages up from current. No measures yet far as I know.

So see the Sapen of Frugalhorn thread.

Has anyone built these? I wonder how much fuller the bass sounds compared to the 127e reference project?

Btw, i hooked up my little 127e boxes to a new Onkyo receiver and all sounds fine at low volumes. Turn it up a bit and things don't sound too good. Sonic Impact amp is better and tubes are better still. What's with this 100 watt solid state grain all over everything?

Marce,

My main computer system has finally died. I did get one rendering out as a PDF and have attached it here.

This is a maximum treatment patterning and probably is overkill. You may get away with just the top and bottom pattern rows applied. I would apply them first, after you have listened for a while.

I know the desire to listen first time to a completed system and if that is your goal, then apply all of the patterns. Certainly will not hurt the sonics. I do not expect to be able to get back into my main system for a while, so perhaps Dave can help you to size the various block strings.

Thank you very much for the picture Bud, I now have an good idea of what is required. I will apply the pattern as shown in my Cad package, which should be able to calculate the pattern size once I put the maths in.
I now have another dilema, as aestheticaly the patterns realy apeal to me (It reminds me of Briget Riley's work, an artist I quite admire, as some may have gathered from my mumblings). So do I wait and experiment or do I add the patterns. Which would be in a flat black, so that they are easily seen as an example but also as a decorative feature, again there they are not far of some of the marquetry I've seen on some Art Deco furniture and so would go nicely with my vision of the finished cabinets.
Is it me or is it a Chang variant a Day month 😀

Hi,
build still continuing, as speakers not far away, final finishing in progress, pictures soon, the main problem is the builder is full of flu, which does not help when humping these delicate little speakers about.

Thanks to Dave and Bud for baffle enable pattern, I have deceided to get the basics done first then apply the pattern later,
a. gives me more time and b. allows a before and after comparision.

If you can't patch that one together, time for a Mac Mini with Parallels...

OT - but
I recently acquired a new iMac, but the learning curve for Vectorworks is a bit more than I care to handle at this time. Besides, if I need anything fancy done, Dave is more than handy with all things 'puter related. I can probably build a small pair of speaker boxes in the time it takes his instructions to sink in, and you don't want to look closely at his cabinetry work :mischiev: - symbiosis at work

After installing Parallels and XP(home), my antique Windows CAD program (Autosketch - which although very limited, I am very comfortable with, and can use both at home and work) has never run better!

Even getting the new USB printer to work was so transparently automatic, it was scary - finding the appropriate driver and default settings was always a PITA with this particular application ever since "upgrading" to XP, but the OS10/Parallels combination worked like a charm:

"you've got a printer attached, so let's use it; would that be OK?"

Actually, among several projects on my bench right now is a pair of Brynn, hopefully to be ready for noise making within the week.

Once drivers are treated, we'll likely be trying with both 127 & 126 (our first effort with the latter in a BVR style cabinet)

Hi, just nipped into local library to give a quick update, as I'm at home coughing.
Picked drivers up last night (Cheers Scott), finaly got them installed at about 12.30 (midnight).
Dave, they are beutiful, as soon as I'm back in the land of the living I'll post pics etc.

So how do the Curvey Changs sound, initial views very nice, and go loud as me and the misis have found out this morning.
Will give a more in depth view when I have listened more and my ears get use to the sound.
So for now I rate them
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
