Now how about that - it has taken some time - but is now a couple of days away from completion. Matt Black.
jmenzies,
Nice to see the progress.
For builders outside of the USA, it looks a like a large diameter poly pipe is the way to go. I have fancied building the Halcyon from time to time, and have contemplated using a poly pipe. My understanding is that a pipe with decent wall thickness would work in this application.
Interesting color for your MDF - that is the water resistant type?
Look forward to more build pics as it happens.
P.s. Are you going to put chamfers/round overs on insides of the driver cutout for the Alpair 10P? Since the cabinet is built, a rasp would probably be only way

I suspect that it is a waterproof variant. It is not the nest I have seen but not a lot else available.
Depending on the sound quality I can do the same for twice the price using ply - but this has to be constructed here - not off the shelf - so would be local tropical timber fully cured then sawn and bonded. The wood grain however would be spectacular.

The desk and the coffee table are in my home. You might note the price! Western jurisdictions are a little more expensive.
The Cabinet Maker is Moro Wood in Siem Reap. The wood is from trees felled during road construction and is very old. Takes a lot of effort to go from the dry tree to this.
Thought you might like to see the progress. a Couple of days away from completion. Matt black and starting to look pretty good. Baffles are pretty solid as you can see. Of course all the components fit nicely!
This is a bit of different variant to the wood grain that is more common here. The wood way above is Chanray and I could generate ply from this - and that would have some interesting enclosures!

Good to see more progress. Now that the cabinets are done, you should be up and running soon.
The black finish is looking matte - what process did you follow?
The smaller boxes in the background that placed on a rack - those are for housing the crossovers?
yes smaller boxes in the back are for the Crossovers. Matt was all sprayed, sand and repeat. to remove all blemishes. All glued and screwed. So should be nicely sealed and robust.
I should get mid week - but am pretty busy right now - so in around a week all components should be installed. I will provide some detail regards the final painting etc and a load of photos. Happy to provide said boxes at cost - but the freight and packaging from Cambodia might be prohibitive. Takes around 2 months to build and finish. I rather think that this is just Ver 1.0.... if the sound is to expectations then might well try a few variants.
