Just got the DVD of "First Men In The Moon"
I like the scene where Cavor meets the Selenite leader. Gotta love those cool Harryhausen FX.
Or, if you prefer something a little more obscure, try Phase IV see man match wits with a super-intelligent colony of ants.

Someone mentioned The Wages of Fear a few pages back, which
was remade as The Sorcerer, but do see the original.
How about the scene where the guy is rolling a cigarette and the tobacco is blown out of the rolling paper from the blast.
Gotta be one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history.

You guys have gone without mentioning the best bad movie ever!

Animusic
the Public Broadcasting System in the US is using an Animusic video as "filler" -- WLIW (Channel 21) -- curious.

"brazil"
the bit when they try and fix the hole in the cieling and "oh they changed to metric again and never told us"
and "oh you fixed it yourself did you"
I have used that for "customers" who are fix their own pcs.
actually there are many parts of that movie that make me LOL!
the whole thing started because the names "buttle" and "tuttle" were mixed up when a government drone was trying to kill a {beetle} and it fell in the high tech typewriter computer and screwed it up..a bug in the machine 🙂

Brazil
Buggle?
That might be my favorite movie of all time. DiNero is wonderful, nearly steals the picture. You'll recall the line about metric comes right after the hole repairmen say, "We're from the government, we never make a mistake," and watch the replacement floor bit fall right through the hole into the apartment below.

I heard that was very good science fiction movie. And I like sci fi movies. So I watched it. It was very interesting and very silly. After an hour I couldn't take the movie anymore and stopped watching. Interesting movie though, like I said. I liked 12 Monkeys (same director and similar style). I just started watching these movies when I got high speed interent.
Naked Lunch lasted about 5 minutes for me. When the guy started talking to the bug, I had enough.
Blade Runner much better. Of course the Alien movies are great, some better than others.
Funny, I responded to this thread more than 2 years ago. Where I asked if anyone could explain 2001: a space odessy to me. I thought I watched it for the first time a few months ago. Still didn't understand it. Even after viewing an online flash movie that explained it. I mean, I understood the explaination, but I just found it nonsensical. Clockwork orange was the same way, although a very good point was made at the very end (last line or last few lines).
I find many movies silly or stupid, sorry. Esspecially new ones. Even Alien and Blade Runner don't make a lot of sense, as far as science fiction goes. I like a lot of documentaries. Even a bad documentary is better than 99.9% of movies I think. Anyone like documentaries?

Not exactly a documentary but "Walking With Dinosaurs" sure was great.
Now, adding to the list - "The Devils". I'm surprised no one had yet mentioned it.
Take your pick........
"They Saved Hilter's Brain":
The hideous replica of Der Fuerher's head in a jar, sneering menacingly, yells "Mach schnell, mach schnell!", then sneers even more.
Or......"Inframan":
"To insure invincibility, it is essential that you have Thunder Ball Fists!"
"I can have such a thing?"
"Yes, tomorrow, I will give them to you."

cult..
atomic cafe .... the bit of "duck and cover"
as far as documentaries... you should start with "Nanook of the north"

Right now it's 'Versus', a hyperkinetic tale of the eternal battle between good and Yakuza zombies.
Edit: Sorry, favourite part: "You'll never hit me with a bullet that slow, my reflexes are a thousand times faster than Mike Tyson's. Come on!!"

"Delicatessen".
First 60 seconds, the "meat" tennant trying to escape the butcher shop in a dumpster wrapped in pieces of newspaper.
"la Grande Bouffe".
Marcello Mastroianni fondling the bottom of a statue.

Wow!, That brings back memories!......My uncle plays the doctor who examines Bowie's character in the movie.
I had not seen it at the theater, and was watching it some years later on HBO or something.
I can remember saying, as we were watching it, "Hey!, that's My uncle Chuck!" and My friends & date not believing me until we read the credits.
Tall Shadow
I almost forgot!
Bubba Ho-Tep
Funny movie, should be a cult classic, if It's not already!
Check it out.....

Do i want to see that again? NO WAY !
Have any of you guys seen Red Dwarf?
This dialouge played in the beginning of Terrorform (5x03) Is among funniest i have ever seen.
Its all played out as writing on a computer screen, Lister is playing a text based videogame, and something identified as a giant spider is reported loose on the ship..
CAT: So what's the problem? Hey, you OK? You look tense.
LISTER: (Typing) > HELP
> Something is crawling up my leg. I think it's a taranshula
CAT: You're playing that dumb adventure game.
LISTER: > It's in my boxers. It's making a nest
CAT: Then buy a potion from Gandalf, the master wizard. That's what I
usually do.
LISTER: > I'm SERIOUS.
CAT looks down, then looks up again, a rather tense expression on his
face.
CAT: (Typing also) > It has an eye the size of a meatball
LISTER: > Kill it
CAT: > How?
LISTER: > I can't think straight. I've got a taranshula with an eye the
size of a meatball setting up home in my joy department. Help me.
CAT: > I'm scared
LISTER: > YOU'RE scared. How d'you think I feel?
CAT: > You haven't SEEN it!!
LISTER: > The lower half of my body has gone numb.
CAT: > That's probably for the best.
LISTER: > It's moving
> Oh *#%^**!!!!

It was actually "Eric Haas Cartwright" -- Dan Blocker -- unfortunately he died too soon.
my favorite "cult" movie today is "shoot the piano player"
Some of my faves...
Not all that much of a movie watcher, but here is a short list of some I like:
Monty Python- Holy Grail, Life of Brian
Blade Runner
After Hours-Martin Scorsese (Very odd little film, with some pretty big names in it)
Anything by Quentin Tarantino, especially Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. Great dialog. I also like Kill Bill (both parts)
Young Frankenstein
2001 Space Odessy
Team America: World Police (The sex scene with the puppets is worth the rental on it's own)
Many years ago, there was a drive-in theater near me that had triple features every Saturday night. Some friends and I went one night to see Groove Tube, Tunnel Vision, and Kentucky Fried Movie. Now, that's an evening of weirdness! (Yes, substances were involved)
