Many years ago, there was a drive-in theater near me that had triple features every Saturday night. Some friends and I went one night to see Groove Tube, Tunnel Vision, and Kentucky Fried Movie. Now, that's an evening of weirdness! (Yes, substances were involved)

I saw "2001" at least a half-dozen times when it came out -- at a drive-in -- Mentor Ohio.

Ever stuff a couple folks in the trunk to get in free?

My favorites -

Cult Movies:
----------------

Falling Down: "It says all that? Well maybe if you wrote it in ****ing english I could understand it"
The Running Man: Richards: "I'll be back!" Killian: "Only in reruns!"
They Live: "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ***. And I'm all outta bubblegum."
Tron: great computer nerd movie
Escape from New York: "Snake Plisskin? Is that you? I thought you were taller!"
Clerks/Mallrats: "37?!"
The Black Hole: One of the few good disney movies, along with tron.
Donnie Darko: Donnie's friends explanation of the sexual relationships of the smurfs.
Fist of the North Star (anime): Chock full of blood and guts. The english version makes no sense, which makes it even funnier.
Vampire Hunter D/ VHD Bloodlust (anime): Another great animated feature. Both are beautiful to watch, along with a decent story.
Evil Dead/Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness: pure genius
Snatch/Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels: Both are fantastic movies. Extremely funny.
Brazil: Terry Gilliam's best movie in my opinion.

Maybe less cultish movies:
-----------------------------------

Robocop: "Drop your weapon, you have 20 seconds to comply"
Total Recall: "In 30 seconds you'll be dead, and I'll blow this place up and be home in time for cornflakes!"
Predator: "You're bleeding." "I ain't got time to bleed."
Spaceballs: "How many a-holes have we got on this ship, anyhow?" "Yo!"

I can't help it -- I love campy action flicks and comedies 😀

Showin' our age there, Jack!

That was the prime virtue of my first car, a '64 Chevy Belair. We got eight people in there one night. Problem was, one of them started, ummm, toxic gas release. That got everyone else laughing which made the poor guy start laughing which made him toot even more. So I drive up to the ticket window, with peals of laughter and tooting sounds coming from my trunk. With a straight face, I said, "One, please."

Has anybody seen "Greaser's Palace"? It's a movie by Robert Downey Sr. The hero's name is Jesse, who is basically Jesus in a zoot suit in a 19th century setting in the western US. My favorite part was when he has a big crowd of people following him. At the end of the line is a guy crawling in the sand, repeating "I can crawl again! I can crawl again!".

The Way of the Gun

James Caan's response to a comment about a 5 Million dollar ransome just being cash:

"Cash is what you use at the market or get from the ATM. 5 Million dollars is motive with a universal adapter."

McQuarry who wrote "The Usual Suspects", wrote & directed this movie. I think it's one of the best movies I ever saw.

Harold & Maude - When Harold is doing horrible things to himself to scare off dates his mother lined up for him.

Mystery Men - "OK, now I am going back to grad school."

Le Dernier Combat - whole film is a gem

Bladerunner - "If you'd seen the things I've seen with your eyes."

Mars Attacks - "Oh no, not the Nancy Reagan chandelier!"

Trainspotting - "Shocking."

(I know, not completely cult)

Jaws - "We're going to need a bigger boat."

Goldfinger - "What, do you expect me to talk?" - "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die."

You got room under hood? I have special suit that keep me safe :hot: You can explain 2001 to me when nothing is happening in the movie, so we have like the whole movie except for 20 minutes.

I can't believe no one mentioned...

This Is Spinal Tap!

Faeturing the all-time best audio-related quote:
"This one goes to eleven."

And sensitive songs like "Big Bottoms": "Big bottoms, big bottoms, talkin' about mud flaps, my girl's got'em. Big bottoms drive me out of my mind, how can I leave this... BEHIND!"

Francois.

Brazil (proper version not american feel good version)
i cant think of a particular part, but

the original buttle/tuttle error when it happened.
fighting over desk through wall
blowing up the government building with its own paperwork
"oh you fixed it yourself did you" <sic>
"oh they changed to metric again and never told us" <sic>
and swapping the air and sewage tubes on the repair guys suit.

were some highlights i enjoyed.

What is the difference? Please tell. The ending was that he was psychotic at the end. Not feel good. I hate feel good.

I just saw the whole movie few days ago. Saw first half a few months ago and stopped watching 2/3rds of the way through. The movie is a comedy of sorts. I don't like comedies too much, but still good movie.

My favorite part was the "oh you fixed it yourself, did you?" Then I think (Sam?) said, "it fixed itself" and then the repair men said, "it fixed itself, did it? (they start laughing histarically) Well let's just have a look."

The version for American broadcast network TV (not the video nor cable version, which were left intact) cuts the movie off after the happy dream sequence near the end. It leaves out the very last part where you find out that the escape was a delusion just before death.

My complications had complications.
