In normal operation 1/4W is still ok for the base stoppers - they reach the limit at around 8A per output pair. At this point the drivers are also rather stressed already. Moreover, at around 5A per pair control board over-current protection will trip, so we are safe anyway.
Thanks. My next larger size of 2R2 resistors would have been 3 watt. I'm still short a couple caps to get these running though.🙁
Hi Valery,
Finishing populating my boards. You have C23 listed as 250V. Will it see anywhere near that voltage? Looks like it is following a 1m resistor.
Thanks, Terry

Even less than the rail. Sometimes I put the voltage not because of the real voltage, but for having the cap case of the right size 🙂
Sorry, I was thinking of TL072.
I may tackle my BJT version today. The Mosfet output version is my favourite amp to date. Just waiting proper transformers to build a chassis.
Looking forward to hearing your impressions. My board order should come in next week and I will try building a BJT version too.

I'm really curious if there will be any difference with BJTs. I'm also curious if higher rail voltage will be noticeable at low volume. I have a feeling with the high speed of these output devices rail voltage won't matter.
Hi valery, what is open loop gain and bandwith from the latest schematic post#126??
Do you else have any news / thoughts regarding this amplifier?

Guys do you Think it's possible to add my own SOA protection board AS i have a PCB which blocking Baang in loudspeaker and turn of output if DC should appear at the output??

The bias connection is there just for that purpose. You should check out Valery's 21 century protection thread. It connects directly to this amp.
