Convert your class D into ABD modulation

I get what you mean but to hope for a wildly distorting unit in a audio system to "fix" fidelity on system level is nothing I will architect.

The "hifi" definition never included the recording as far as I understand it - but perhaps the speakers, so it was a half baked attempt.

Anyways - I was talking not necessarily about the current state of audio but rather in a visionary fashion perhaps.

I think even at current state of affairs it is wrong to add a distortion adding function is an audio system - for me it has never contributed to what I aim for. It should be noted that my reference is reality, not studio productions.

To make clear, I don't take issue with your personal choice of system goal. I'm merely pointing out that words such as, "truthful" and "state-of-the-art" can have very different meanings, depending on whether the endmost goal is measuring, or listening. Which then leads to different equipment design objectives.

I worked on TPA3116 in pbtl to make it sound ultra clean as TPA3110. The bottleneck was the distance separating the inductors from the chip because of the heatsink. I drilled holes to wire the inductors from the bottom side and the resolution became as good as TPA3110. I listened several hours without any fatigue or ear whistling, but not a single time I was attracted by a spectacular sound as is the case with its sibling. I suppose the lower frequency 300khz of 3110 vs 400khz of the 3116 is the advantage. In BD mod. the lower is the clock the better is.
This experiment now convinces me that there is no any Chinese miracle transfer function, it is inherent to TI technology.
What concerns the CS8683, I couldn't make it sound ultra clean. For the cost of a pair better get the TDA7498e.
The TPA3255 package is lost, I am struggling with the vendor to be refunded. Another heart break is

$20 without and $24 with BT5. In description gives distortion numbers that looks to be pffb. Will it be easy to make it 4x SE? but I don't have much hope to make it as spectacular as the 3110.
I will use the TPA3110 as driver to power STA516B in PBTL mono, I am hoping to get at least the same sound with 100w/8ohm.
Something strange I find with this type of amps, the NFB, unlike analog amps, doesn't act at all upon the SQ. Of course the distortion numbers certainly goes lower. I swept from min to max the gains of TPA3116 and CS8683, I couldn't hear any difference, how strange.
