Homo Ignoramus ? Banished to mars ? Oh boy...
Sorry, present US "culture" is so tiring. Sighhhhhh....

I wonder what will happen if life on Mars is confirmed. There's enough circumstantial evidence for it already it seems only a matter of time before proof is found. I'm not talking about Martian intelligence or surface creepy crawlies, but microbes thriving off minerals in the water table deep below the surface. It is believed life on Earth began similarly, why not on Mars? Would we suspend explorations there? Cease exploiting it for minerals? Do we have the moral fiber to do the right thing? We have so little regard for the abundance of Life here on Earth I wonder if we have what it takes to care where it is so tenuous and fleeting.
Is there decent beer on Mars?
Meet my almost fav beer, only Koels is better.
Cheers.
A new day, a new beer.Anyone pass me another beer please?

What if life on Mars existed and flourished a million years before we did and eventually left the planet or even died out due to some catastrophic event. Why did earths life evolved in the way it did, from microbes to Dinos and eventually man, why did man not evolve first. Life is confusing and I take it as it is.
Did we evolve from Neanderthal or did our species arrive here as refugees from mars perhaps and have little relation to any species before us.

Yes, but what if Noah's Ark was actually a spaceship and the Flood myth a nuclear war. So the humans stayed at Mars only temporary, until Earth was recovered from the disaster.Did we evolve from Neanderthal or did our species arrive here as refugees from mars perhaps and have little relation to any species before us.
Well that is an interesting observation. Why not virtually every religion has a Noah's arc in it.

Life evolves from simple to complex. Humans are far more complex than bacteria.
All life on earth has been found to be related. For example, all life here uses only left handed amino acids,
even though right handed could have worked. The DNA in all life here uses the same four bases, A C G T.
What if DNA is universal, not only applicable to earth but everywhere. The elements in the periodic table is universal, I think. Water is water, everywhere.
What is not the same thing, DNA or elements. DNA cannot exist without elements or maybe a god did make us from extra-terrestrial dust and blew life into it. Who knows. David Bowie knew there was life on Mars.
Edit: One of my favourite songs and artists. Not so audiophile I guess.

DNA is the product of evolution here on earth. It is not fundamental or universal, like electrons, quarks, elements, etc.
Well I will give you the chance to prove it to us, I have no idea what goes on in other universes. Nor am I a relidious type so you don't have to be careful.
Shootz, I would go to Mars if asked. Although I am a horrible candidate for travel to, or life on, Mars and would never be chosen, I would certainly be thrilled to go, even on a one-way ticket. That said, I doubt my wife would be thrilled with the idea.
I'm thinking my wife would be thrilled if I was going. 🙂That said, I doubt my wife would be thrilled with the idea.
I would bet serious money that the no one will survive the first trip out and back.

It’s highly likely there will be some life clinging on. But surely thats not a reason to colonise it, but a reason to explore it?I wonder what will happen if life on Mars is confirmed. I used to be a pretty prolific poster, and I have been here for almost 20 years 😀Open a thread, lets pull your design apart, this is the normal thing to do. Just joking. 🤓 Good lord 47k comments, you must be over 100 years old! You deserve a lot of respect here!
Even while you have no intention to eat them, they might still feel a desire to eat you. It’s highly likely there will be some life clinging on. But surely thats not a reason to colonise it, but a reason to explore it?
Humans eat nearly all animals, why would they be different?

The denizens of a dying Mars came to Earth some 2.5 million years ago, but were unable to survive here.
They sought to preserve part of their race by creating a 'colony by proxy' through enhancing the intelligence of, and imparting Martian faculties to, Earth's indigenous primitive hominids.
Those hominid's descendants evolved into humans, retaining the vestiges of Martian influence buried in their subconscious.
We ARE the Martians!!
(At least according to Nigel Kneale.)
