G- to Neg rail = 0000000

Im gonna turn in and get a fresh perspective in the morning ... Its been a long day ...

thanks Bill , were almost there ...

Getting a little buzzing from things ,but Ill worry about that when its running properly .

With plus rail voltage on the gate of Q1 it should be turned off.
Q2 should be turned on but it should be as hot as Q3.
I imagine Q2 is toast, but I dont know where the current is going if Q3 is hot.
Is R5 hot also?

Check the voltage across Z5

it seems I have been using the wrong bloody parts list !

now I cant find the correct list for Brians boards ....

I can check everything from the schematic,but I dont have the values for ... R12, R6, R13,

I have pulled out the trimmers ... Makes it too complicated for the first build . Just want to get it working now...

Im going to **** off and learn how to read a schematic before I try this again .. FFS

I have a parts list for Brian's projects with those boards for:
Aleph 30.

It is a little more confusing in that it appears at least some of the parts obviously have different numbers from the original
Aleph 30 schematic....Brian's parts list page shows his board numbers as well as what the original number was.

So first, what are you looking at that has R6, R12, R13, etc on? The original schematic? Or Brian's list?

If you go to the chip amp site, click on "order form" and scroll to the bottom of the page where the Aleph boards are, and double click on either the Aleph boards or the power supply boards, and a spread sheet will open with the parts listed. Tabs at the bottom to select mini-Aleph, or Aleph 30.

My older computer would never open it, if you have trouble I can of course give you part numbers.

Got it , cheers.

Now all I need to do is find new matched mosfets for another rebuild . I keep getting a short and this is the only item I cant trust anymore ....

I had one side working and realised I had the wrong value resistor in . I changed them out and poof !!!!

Any ideas , matching my own is beyond me I think ... I believe I proved that , now I just want to get something workable for the time/money investment .

thanks again for the help . R

R6 (R1 on ORIGINAL schematic) = "Not used" another list
said "optional for closer matching of Q1 and Q2."

R12 (R21 on ORIGINAL schematic) = 820 another list gives 825, likely not much difference. "initial value, could be optimized for power/load conditions."

R13 (R19 on original schematic) = 47.5k "initial value, could be optimized for power/load conditions.

Were you able to pull up the BOM on the Chip Amp site?

Matched devices can be had reasonably from Jack at DIYtech.com, as well as a member or to in the swap meet.
